Notice said principal investigator Dr. Natalie Bzowej PHD.
No Cost. Not sure if this is the same trial you are talking about but if anyone from San Francisco BayArea wants to find out about details of trial I thought I'd post the info.
As I understand it, it's not much different than the current SOC with the exception that the interferon injections are bi-weekly as opposed to weekly. IT might allow those who react poorly to Peg-IFn a shot at tx. The main difference from the pegylated interferon currently in use is how the interferon is enlarged molecularily to increase it's longevity in the body.
For those who suffer more from the sx's of riba, it would seem that Albuferon may not offer much as it too must be coupled with riba to inhibit viral replication.
There are a couple of people who post here who are in the Albuferon trial currently and I think a person or two who have participation on their minds. I was invited to join the trial several months ago and probably would have if I hadn't just started regular old peg and riba.

If you look at the article you'll see that the Coordinating Center Principal Investigator is Dr. J McHutchison. The same guy who is the main dude for Vertex. Busy guy.
