Speculating on 12 week VL

My VL was 7.5 million when I started treatment, went down to 1.5 million at 4 weeks, added Vic and at 8 week it was 265.  My doctor will not speculate (and I understand why), but do we think there is chance it will be UD at 12 week given these numbers?

Welcome to another Viccie (I am on week 22).

I will be anxious to see that your 12-weeks result is, but to be honest, that 265 does not bode well but at least you are (so far) under the 1000 and can continue on long treatment.  Had you treated before, and , if so , were you a nonresponder?  What is the state of your liver?  None of the answers to these questions will answer your question, but I am terribly interested in how you do going forward.

There are not a lot of us viccies -- and hardly anyone has completed the minimum 28 week rgt, so we really don't know wht the results will be.  I know of two members terminated on VIC -- one had 53,000 at 8 and 75,000 at 12 weeks. One had 1918 at 8 weeks and 300 at 16 weeks.  There was one other member terminated at 9 weeks after a 1-log drop at week 8.

Hi.  Dunno.  But this does show that you are responding to treatment, so that is a good thing.  As my nurse had to tell me -- the mere fact that my VL dropped significantly meant that a "weight" had been lifted off my liver.  A good thing.  I know the waiting for results is hard but keep up the good work and don't forget to post once you know.  Wishing you the best.

The waiting is tough.  Stay positive.  When will you do your week 12 VL?

For the same reason the doctor didn't speculate what may happen to your viral load,no-one here would be able to with any certainty either.
Not being UND. at week 8  would mean that you would do 48 weeks of  treatment according to Victrelis dosing protocol and as long as your VL is <100 at week 12 and UND. by week 24 there is always  a chance of success..

Best of luck to you  and welcome to the group..

Will
