Transmission Questions

Hey everyone -

We seem to have a few transmission questions now, and in the ones I have seen so far, people have been quite rude.  If these questions bother you, don't answer them.  If you think it's a troll, just report it and let us check it out.

Please remember that before you got Hep C, you might not have known all the info about transmission, and keep in mind that someone who might have really been at risk might be afraid to ask about it if all he/she sees is insults to those who ask about transmission.

I didn't give blood to find out - I give blood regularly and found out that way - I had no reason to think I had HCV

Giving blood is definitely not a good way to find out if you have HCV. Even with the NAT testing, etc., there is still a window when your blood may not  test positive and could still get in to the blood supply. Please don't encourage people to do this as an inexpensive or easy way to learn their HCV status.

QUACKERS!!   Yp - I had symptoms but thought I was dehydrated and didn't see a doctor.  A month later I gave blood and then got the letter.  I know I got it between the end of March and June of last year.  As I said, I give blood so often that it was caught quickly. Kick it kick it kick it

Maybe it's time to set up an faq (frequently asked questions) link, that way there would be a standard answer and more ppl would be happy with the answer given or received.  If there's already a link, I obviously haven't come across it yet.  I'm just sayin'

I certainly take offense to your post. The few negative posts are such a small percentage of what really happens on this forum.  I totally agree with what willbb posted.

I personally have continued to post here even though I have been off treatment and cured over 2 years ago. I stay here to give back because I was helped by so many on this forum.

When I first found out I had HCV I was horrified and thought I was going to die. I joined every HCV forum on the internet seeking answers. I asked some "stupid questions" and now realize how patient the members here were with me. This forum was where I received the most help and I eventually stop visiting the other forums. There are many members here that know more about HCV then most doctors! And these same members have been around long enough to know when someone is here to scam them.

Just my opinion........
