Vitamineralsupplement Naz*s Achtung !

Stepping up my fitness program, so may decide to join your ranks. So get me in lock step please...

What do you take? How much do you take? Why do you take it? How does it make you feel? And anything else you want to add.

Also, anyone copy down our dear friend "Rocker's" regimen that he posted what seems like many moon's ago?

Right now, I'm taking:

Centrum Silver for my multi

Probiotics (advanced acidophilus Plus by Solgar and/or Jaro-Dophilus EPS,

2000-4000mg Omega 3 & Omega 6 Fish Oil  by Nature's Bounty

Ultimate Fiber and/or Omega Nutrion's Hi-Lignan Nutri-fax flax seed powder

One or two Ecotrin (coated baby aspirin) per day.

Looking for a good "Green" mix like what Rocker or what Kalio posted.

Yeah, it pretty pricey. I think the SAMe, Milk Thistle, PPC and probiotics all have some pretty good science behind them. The Resveratrol (sp) was the singular one my hepo pointed out he was impressed with. So, from this persective of teetering on the precipice I think I'll just keep on tying on any bungees that come my way.

Where are you buying your gloves these days? I know there pretty inexpensive, but did you ever consider turning them inside out for double the mileage?

Thanks Goof but I think I'll do a wee bit more research before forking over 200 big ones every month :) That said, I did pick up some HCL, Aloe Vera Gel and pepopermint plus to help with digestion plus some green tea extract and some designer Whey Protein to make some "Zone" shakes. Looked into some of the green mixes but either they had what I already eat (lots of fruits and vegetables) or they seem to throw in the kitchen sink without a bunch of herbs including milk thistle and licrorice root, and a bunch of other stuff  I'm a bit unsure about. BTW you happen to remember which ones on the list your doc said "I don't know and can't comment on", that would be great. FTW latex gloves are pretty cheap by the pack, or so I hear.

Suggest you go to LEF.ORG and find the PPC product page. Loads of reading and references from there. (Find the small Reference Link). Also connected to PPC and liver health is this on testosterone: http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2004/feb2004_cover_test_01.htm

You could read all day there by finding links to the supps on 'The List'.

Can't say for sure where this list originated - it made it's rounds a few months ago to those of us who choose to maintain stops on the underground email railroad :)

I'm reposting, hopefully w/o special charcters this time.

I ran the list by my treating Doc. He's not G, but it's fair to say they see pretty much eye to eye, with minor discrepancies. As I posted before, he knew most of the stuff, but not all. Some things, resveratrol in particular, he was quite hot on. Also liked probitotics and I think SAMe. Others he was kinda blase (can't hurt) and a couple he plainly said, I don't know it and can't comment. He didn't ward me to avoid any of it - so it's been pretty much cleared by him - He held the list and handed it back without any cautionary words.

I'm currently taking most of the stuff, but I need to pick up a few more things. I also miss the noontime dose as often as not, and sometimes the evening :(

This **** ain't cheap. At these doses just SAMe, PPC, and Resveratrol could set you back close to $200 a month. Hence my post looking for new sources. As I said before an ugly girl with latex gloves in a dimly lit room would have a bigger immediate impact on my outlook on life.... and I'd have money left over to rent a few movies for the rest of the month!

Oh Goof, sorry to bug you again (not really :)) but there were some strange characters in the post -- not you, but for example "500 mg Resveratrol – ", maybe when you transposed from your word processing program. In any event, maybe you can translate. Thanks. BTW think I'll email the list off to a couple of my big shot liverheads and see what they say. Last question, did you run the list your treating doc, Dr. G, cause I know he's published on supplements.

Thanks again, gotta start supplementing my life with something so it might as well be supplements :) It certainly does give you the feeling you're doing something but sugar pills would be so much cheaper.

Thanks for the list! Is this the infamous Califia's list? Do you know what any of it means. LOL. Don't supposed you have any of the scientific papers from AASLD.

How long you been taking the stuff? Do you feel any better? How about your ALT and AST? Have you been monitoring them since you started and any changes? How much is this setting you back? Honestly now, could the money be better spent on that masseur you referred to earlier?

Be well,

What a wonderful card to get from your husband. He has his priorities straight! Only 2 more weeks. That's such good news. Sorry tx. has been rough but it's great you have a family that loves and appreciates you. Feels different being on the other side of caretaking, huh?
Take care.

I take 9 (while on tx) fish oil soft gels per day (will reduce the amt to about half off tx).

Jarrow Formulas- Jarro Dophilus EPS twice daily and eat plain yogurt every morning

    Daily Energy Enfusion by PhytoPharmica
has loads of antioxidents, protein and look at the amino acids content.   This is mixed into a glass with any liquid, I mix with fresh OJ.

Hi Bug,   getting to end of 48, never thought I'd finally get this close, about 2 wks to go!
The whole experience has been tough, sx have been reeeally bad for me and everyone in the household has had to sacrifice something just to help me get through this.
This is what hubby wrote on my V-Day card:

I cherish you even more after this year then you can
possibly imagine.
I thank God for you and for allowing
me to spend a long life with you.

I'm hoping I will get well enough so things can get back to normal... teens are wonderfull, the oldest was just accepted to TX A & M, and she says she's ready to have her independence (so she thinks).  :>)

NYG,   great to finally see you off tx after 72 wks, you've shown us all what a strong and determined woman you are.
Enjoy life with a big smile!

I started my fitness regimen with baby steps this week. Oy vey, oy vey, oy vey.

Laying in bed for a year and a half - having your muscles eaten away by interferon...oy vey.

The pain is BAD but I'm not going to stop. I want to LOOK healthy for a change and that will spur me on.

Plus - I love taking vitamins etc. now that I am so used to taking pills.  I just substitute a vitamin instead of a riba and I'm actually TAKING THEM now easily when prior to tx - I ALWAYS forgot.

I guess tx is good for something!

OK. The local place was out of Green Defense. So I got "Green Vibrance" instead:
Ingredients here: http://www.vibranthealth.org/gvingredients.html
----------
Anyone take this stuff. Does it all sound good? Anything bad? Tell you, it's amazing how much we all scrutinize the rx drugs we take and then walk into the health food store and walk out with a cash register full of stuff that I doubt 1% of us really has any clue about. LOL. Not sure I do, but the packaging is much more colorful and uplifting than the riba box.

Nothing to do with the "chick" LOL. In fact, the chick situation is a bit more complicated than I let on, so it's still to be seen if there will be a "situation"  if you know what I mean. BUT I am trying to get my cholesterol lipid profile in shape so I won't need statins as well as taking care of some bloating that happened post treatment. We'll see how Green Vibrance, the Zone diet and some of the other stuff goes.

That stuff looks better than green defence. Yours is all certified organic. I don't think mine is. I will read mine again tommorrow to see. If yours looks better, I will buy the vibrance. But it looks great. They don't skimp that's for sure. you have a good amount of everything in that formula..

Wow this new chick is really making you into an new man, taking all this health food stuff. She must be special. Jim is in love. We all better get invites to the wedding too. Make sure the forum all sit together. The hepper table. lol

I don't copy much from threads here, but I did capture a few more Rocker comments.  I think they are from October'ish.  In addition to the meal menu above:  (please note this is unedited copy/paste)

As Rocker Wrote:

apple cider vinager....yes almonds too in morning...25 grams...my greens power supplys me with the equivelent of 8 organic salads with one scoop...also sprouts are more nurtious than salads, loaded with more vitamins....distilled water in all my shakes and juices....yves brand of veggie burger,i tried other brands but they suck...no meat...no fish...no chicken....jim.....i am still trying to keep the weight off...and i work 48 hours a week....walk 3 miles a day....pump weights 2 times a week...light weights....its not the calories that are important...its the nutrients in the foods...it works for me....give it a try....you will be thanking me

vege greens is a comprehensive combination of over 60 land, sea and cruciferous vegetables, as well as super green foods, efas, pre and probiotics, enzymes and herbal extracts. one small scoop is equivalent to six to eight servings of vegetables, and offers a full spectrum of nutrient-rich and highly alkaline foods. professionally formulated and energetically tested, vege greens contains no artificial flavours, colours, or sweeteners, and no hidden ingredients...................8 salads in one friggin scoop

are one of our finest food sources of another compound, saponins. saponins lower the bad cholesterol and fat but not the good hdl fats. animal studies prove their benefit in arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. saponins also stimulate the immune system by increasing the activity of natural killer cells such as t- lymphocytes and interferon. the saponin content of alfalfa sprouts multiplies 450% over that of the unsprouted seed..............

I have Green Defense by Jarrow. Got it online vitacost.com.

I'm not takiing during tx cause of the milk thistle in it. only 50mg, but don't want to take herbs while tx, even tho it would probalby be fine.

this formula does contain licorice root tho, which if someone is prone to high blood pressure, you may want to investigate a little into that. The amount is only 50 mg of licorice, but still and all I would look into if high BP.

I also would like to know exactly what the greens powder shake is.  It sounds like the one thing that I could easily incorporate into my diet.  Rocker was really hard core when it came to his nutrition!
