Week 17 of triple tx.
In the past 3 weeks my alt and ast numbers have go from the middle of the normal range to a high range

ast - 53

Started epo 2 weeks ago and those numbers are coming up, which is a good thing.

Some people just fluctuate a lot during treatment.  I don't much, but I ahve read that it does not indicate a return of the virus.

Marty,

As copyman said, these numbers jump around.  Mine went from ALT 22 to 165 after I started Vic and then came back down to the teens a few weeks later.  Just monitor PCR and that is the true test!

Good luck to you!

During treatment ALT & AST mean very little. Treatment can cause these #'s to fluctuate. The main concern during TX is WBC HGB and of course PCR results. Did you have PCR tests at 4, 8, 12 weeks?
