Worried

Hi I have hepc, a while ago I was living with my mother who has a 5 yr old son for a couple of months. Lately my little brother has been falling asleep in class- the doctor made him have a few tests to check his white and red blood cells, we are still waiting on the results. I'm worried that this could be hepc that I have passed to him while living there somehow. Is this a symptom or would this be something else?

Hi! I am hep c positive, well after 24/28 weeks of tx the viral load has been undetectable since the fourth week of treatment. To try and answer your question as best as I can, my GI Doc told me that there's a less than 3 percent chance of passing the virus to my husband. I've had 2 sons before I knew that I was hep c+ & neither of them are positive, so I feel pretty confident in telling you that it's very highly unlikely that you gave it to your little brother. BUT when in doubt there's always the blood test, just to ease your mind and also find out if he's just sick from something else that could be causing the symptoms he's got. I DO NOT believe that you could've given it to him unless you gave him a blood transfusion etc. Highly unlikely but I'd still recommend a hep c blood test. I wish you all the best.

First this is not a symptom of Hep C, second you have been told in other threads how the virus is passed on. You really need to get control of yourself ....... This is not good for you, your baby or family. Once again it is blood to blood. It's not easy to pass on to others, if it was the whole world would have it..... As for your brother there would be no way to even guess. Good luck to all of you.........
