cleared hep c 8 years ago

I am an 8 year Hep C responder.  I did 48 weeks of treatment.  I was a genotype 1-a and had stage 1 portal fibrosis.  I am in excellent physical condition.  49 years old, weight train 4 days per week, cycle 20 miles 3 days per week.  My question is.......is beer ok in moderation for me.  As it stands, I drink only 3 beers a night on the weekends.  I am 5'3 and 115 lbs.

Thanks

Congratulations on your success. Stage 1 is minimal damage and from what I have read, can reverse. If I were in your shoes, I would make one last visit to the Dr., close that chapter of my life, and live my life the way I want to.

Funny, actually I am married and seemingly in very good health.  I have always read and heard that the treatments (provided they work for you) will reverse the liver damage.  I have no clue to the validity......or if it's a myth.  Does anyone know?  As to the quality of beer.......miller lite (lowest of alcohol content).

to me, it totally depends on the quality of the beer and who you sleep with on the weekends...are they a heavy sleeper and not easily awoken? Beer always gave me gas, and one should take care to sleep with a heavy sleeper while drinking it... then nones the wiser...:) other then that, I wish you well in your SVR, nice to know it took and it can be done...be well...
