After failing tx with sovaldi/olysio does anybody think it would be a good idea if I drink coffee and or green tea during tx? I didn't take anything during first go round.

Hi there, I have heard from others on here that coffee is good for the liver.

Also, a couple of years ago, with the old tx's people were discussing that Insulin Resistance could mess with the HCV tx.  I don't have any idea if this could be true for newer tx's, maybe someone else would know.
I thought I would send you this link in case you might be interested

The first time I treated I relapsed.  I started  looking up everything I could to try to help myself through the next tx.
Not saying it helped but it was something positive and I did get to SVR.

My favorite beverage during Tx was 2-3 glasses of Green Tea a day.
Wow!!!!   Is it the best.
If anyone has a Publix in their neighborhood, they make it homemade with ginseng and honey.   Sell it in the Deli.  It's the bomb.
Green Tea is considered a Super Food for many diseases including liver.
Cleared my virus, with a little help from Sovaldi and Ribavirin.
Drink On!

Hi
Found this

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/06/110607105212.htm

Excerpt

Advanced hepatitis C patients with chronic liver disease may benefit from drinking coffee during treatment, according to a new study. Patients who received peginterferon plus ribavirin treatment and who drank three or more cups of coffee per day were two times more likely to respond to treatment than non-drinkers.

Guess I should be more regular at Starbucks next go round
