Bad breath and Body smells

Does anyone else notice while on these treatments the way they smell? Like a body odor and my wife even complains about my breath.

The taste in my mouth is so overwhelmingly horrible at times, I cannot help but believe it must smell bad too.  Sugar/candy makes me sick and can't handle strong flavors like mint. Walking around with my hand over mouth as I talk for the next few months I guess.

One of the (very few) pluses of being on TX was that I had no BO (underarm).  It just went away.  As far as the rest of my body goes, smell wise, I never smelled anything, and I have a good sense of smell.  But I did notice that my scalp smelled scorched, especially when I began losing my hair.

I bathe once a day, moisturize while wet...floss, brush and use ACT rinse 2x a day, plus gently scrap my tongue as far back as I can..I also get gum/teeth cleanings at the clinic every three months because of bleeding and gingivitis and attempting to keep the dreaded thrush away.

I stay away from much garlic, onions are affecting me badly, from all areas, so I'm kicking them out for now.

been ripping my pj's off at nite lately, don't know if it's restlessness, uncompfortable, or nite sweats.

i have found my bathroom smells like a hospital.....and its not pleasant.  we are making an xtra attempt to keep it ultra clean.

yep I stink too and my house smells like medicine, yuck will be glad when its all said and done. My nose has always been sensitive but now on tx its killing me with the smells.

Now that I am thinking back,  my 2nd huband , who lost the battle to HCV in August 2011, was on SOC tx 2004.    And I can remember him having an odor which reminded me of garlic.   Not that he ate garlic, but smelled like garlic while on tx.   His breath was bad also.   But It did go away when he finished tx.   I am sure for some of us it is just all the toxins in our bodies releasing.   Some of us have different stages of Liver disease, which his was at a Stage 3 at the time.  
I would just bathe as much as you can and keep moisturized as well and keep them teeth brushed too !   I know I am using biotene mouthwash and it keeps my mouth moist and clean also.

We all smell :)

LOL !     I hope not !    I religiously take a bath everyday and brush my teeth 3x a day.   I havent smelled myself lately but now that you all are bringing this up , I surely will make a conscious effort to take a good whiff of myself at least several times a day !   LOL      I do know one thing , my taste has changed and everything seems to be triple magnified to the 700th power.   Especially salt !  Yuk !

some worse some better :)  I keep adult size wipes around and use them a lot before bed if or I don't feel like taking a shower in the am.  powder is good.  Gold Bond makes one that smells pretty low keyed in a white bottle with a gold top.  Helps.   It doesnt smell like a medicine cabinet.   I have not even attempted to wear cologne since starting this.  the first three months I would have thrown up just smelling perfumey stuff.  Now after 6 months I don't miss it.

yes, I think I smell too. And my breath smells bad to me too.  I worry about how I smell to others.   Lately too I have been smelling my deoderant - a metallic smell - so just switched to a non aluminum.

As another wife , I can agree.   I have a really good sense of smell though and can often notice smells that nobody else is bothered by.
Tell your wife that this is our 4th time through this so I can attest to the fact that the smells end when the TX ends.  :>)  Tell her to get some peppermint oil and put a couple drops under her nose.  :>)  By the way, my husband has very little body odor when not on TX. I think that night sweats, which can be a common SX, are the main thing that causes this with him.  I can especially notice his hair/scalp smell icky if he hasn't washed his hair that day.  
There are probably lots of ways to fight against this but it doesn't usually become a priority for us because he doesn't really have the energy to care until it is over.
