hepc and itchy skin

does hep c cause ur skin to break out in hives

Yes, I said "can be related" as many people with Hep. C have few if any symptoms. But it is important to note that many symptoms are secondary to HCV.

Id' like to add that not everyone has the itching and not all itching is hep C related.

The second link refers to uticaria which is the medical term for hives. Again hives can be related to Hep. C check out the link for more info.

I didn't have hives but I was nearly driven mad with itching during the last year or so before treatment. The itching ceased when I became undetected.

Yes.  Twelve years ago, when I began this journey, that's what led to my diagnosis.  I had hives on top of my hives.  I don't know the mechanism of how hep C causes these hives but assume it is some sort of autoimmune thing.  Steroids eventually made me better.  Good luck.  Garry
