Thank you Bill, you know what they say misery loves company, I actually went to the ER last night, I thought I might be having a heartattack, the pain was that bad, but every thing looked good then I felt foolish, oh well. I am gratfull for this forum, I should have waited to get some e-mail from here I could have saved the trip to the ER thanks again Mary ann
I was und at 4 weeks, so 24 weeks were recomended, and it is a good thing I would have never made it 48 weeks this time, treat twice in a year and a half I feel like walking death, hope I start feeling better, I remember feeling better alot sooner first time around. thank you for all your responses, very helpful Mary ann
I had a worse case of angular chillites after I finished tx than during. There was a week of headaches. Then I had some major stomach pains, intestinal stuff that really scared me. Getting my tummy massaged and be careful to eat easily digestible foods helped.
By 2+months post tx, all of that was gone.
By 3 months post I was my happy self again.
One thing that helped me immensely was a good deep tissue massage. Tx is hard on our muscles. Muscular tension can create headaches, back aches, stomach aches, jaw aches, etc.
It takes time to recoup from these strong meds.
Continue to drink lots of water and exercise. Do whatever you can to help relax and eat well.
I took 28 weeks of pegatron.
I was detectable (but low at 44) after 4 weeks, and UND when they tested again at 8 weeks. I think it may have been UND at 5 weeks but I have no way of knowing for certain.
Because I wasn't UND at 4 weeks, my TX was extended. I was given a 4 week supply of pegatron by the clinic itself ( for free). We wanted to continue longer, I thought I could financially and otherwise survive up to 36 weeks, but funding here is limited to 24 weeks for genotype 3.
Stalion, so your last injection was July 20 too and last pills July 26? Me too.. I had 3 pretty good days-- the best thing was not taking pills 5x a day. Then when Monday hit it was like the flu. Every joint ached and it was pretty bad til Friday. I have headaches and an occasional pain behind the eye. But I think this is all the detoxing stage and am trying to ignore it. I did take a walk today that wiped me out on tx and made it through without feeling like I was going to pass out. So things are coming along.
I guess you did 24 weeks with Incevik? When was your first UND?

My understanding is: there is a re-adjustment period, your body has had some powerful drugs in it for months, and when they are gone, it takes time to get used to being without them.
Also, the drugs especially ribivirin can stay in your body for months.
My last injection was July 20, but I've had some different pain than I'd previously experienced under both my left and right ribcages on the sides when I move. The past few nights, I've had more difficulty sleeping than during TX. The itch has become a bit worse the past few days, although I was expecting it to be fading by now.
Let's hope by September we'll be free of these problems.
