i had it on my arm and inside my mouth. for my arm the derm dr gave me clobetasol propionate ointment and benadryl. for the rash inside my cheek the dentist gave me antibiotics and lidocaine mouthwash. both rashes are healed now, but they left dark marks that take a long time to go away. hope i dont ever get it again. the itching and mouth pain is so hard to go through.
yep. again flares up on treatment.....they can do a bio to determine what it actually is however the bio in mouth hurts really bad.
I've never had it but I've certainly heard of it. I have something in the back part of my gums right now. I see the dentist next week and I surely hope I don't have it but I will deal with it if I do. More common than I thought in the mouth. Here's a pic. you have to scroll down quite a bit on the top link before they show the lichen planus pic.
Second link is on the feet or legs.

Lichen Planus------mine has been worse on treatment which doctor tells me is side effect of weeak immune on peg/riba.....hope it gets better after treatment as I can hardly eat these days. My treatment includes Protopic plus some Magic Duke's mouthwash and Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash.
Good Luck,
I have had in the past some minor bouts with lichen planus, however only on the gum area, My Hepa said it was a symptom (albeit a rare one of HCV). I didn"t have it anywhere else on my body. However if that is what you have ,you will need an anti-fungal medication. Most docs aren"t that familiar with lichen planus.so they prescribe all kinds of things just experimenting. Actually if it is lichen planus.antibiotics will make it worse.
Best....

HCV infection is wide spread, with an estimated 3% of the world population being infected and it has been implicated as an etiological factor for the occurrence of lichen planus. It is a single stranded RNA virus mainly transmitted via transfusion of blood or blood products. The proposed mechanisms for the causation of lichen planus are:1) HCV is capable of cytopathic replication in cell types outside the liver.[6] 2) It may trigger an auto-immune process that is directed against antigens expressed on extra-hepatic cells
