Thank you! I certainly have not been through what you all have been through since I contracted it this past year. Your posts have been helpful and inspiring so I know it will all be okay.
I am grateful for this site and for all of you.
So sorry to hear of your unwanted and undeserved results!! You can't always call it and I hope that doctor learned a lesson. I'm sure your number to SVR is floating around somewhere up there and will land on your life soon. Maybe the addition of one of the upcoming PI's will help you to SVR next time. good luck and God Bless!!
I wish - at least I might have had a little bit of fun contrcting it! Although - he's a tad too skinny for me - and short
Thank you for the encouragement. My attitude will be good - my two sisters fought and lost worse battles than this and were way too young. So no complaining form this end.
Thanks !!!
hahahhaaha yes our patron saint of hcv - we are probably a whole bunch of us descended from the great one himself (heck that's a much better story than the real way I got it anyhow!). ;)
Thanks for the good laugh. Massachusettes has an awful lot of good things about it and you will be just fine you have a great spirit and I know it will take you all the way to SVR for sure!
Thank you for your support. You are all too sweet. I don't know why the doc is rushing me.. It is a reputable teaching hospital, but I will get another opinion from another great hospital - Massachusetts is full of them. I know I will be fine - really. Bad timing since I am starting a new job. UGH!!!
Hey Deb - If my son went to an Aerosmith concert and perhaps touched the same door handle as Steven Tyler and then came home and opened the refrigerator, could I have gotten HCV in this way?
I don't see why they don't suggest Pegasys during those tenuous weeks to give the immune system a little goose.
Sorry Annie but it was a good gamble and you gave it your best shot. I'm sure however it wasn't the ben and jerry's if that was the case I never would have gotten to SVR as they were some of my very best friends during treatment! :D
I am sure you will win this battle - we'll be here to support you as best we can.
GOOD LUCK!
Aw, don’t be hard on yourself, Anne; it’s very unlikely anything short of therapy or good luck would have changed the course of this. As cliché as this sounds, it is what it is; you acted on advice of your physician, took a chance and lost the bet.
So you think you’ll treat it quickly? I can’t remember; was there ever enough RNA to produce a genotype, or is that now pending? You’ve become pretty well informed over the past few months; given what you know about the disease now, what drives the treatment decision for you now?
You’re in good company here; as you know, there are plenty of us that have gone ahead of you in the forum, and will help you through all this. I’m sorry to hear it worked out like this, but you’ll manage, and perhaps come out the other side a bit wiser and better for wear.
Good luck, and keep us up to date as you go forward,
