need help with elevated alt and multiple symptoms

From few months i am feeling very sick. Extreme fatigue, muscle twitching, dizziness, weight loss, loss of appetite and others. I have been monitoring my liver enzymes from past 2 years. My ast was always normal but alt levels were 86, 83, 68. Abdomen ultrasound is normal. My doctor suspected magnesium and vitamin d deficiency and put me on supplements. I felt good initially but yesterday i was sick at night. Last year i tested for hepatitis b ag test and it was negative (did from very good lab in india). Do i need to test for hepatitis a and c as well? Please help. Thanks alot

Good news.   Wanted to add Tylenol and brews, as this combo will cause high ALT.
Hope with the lower #, you also start to feel mentally better.  Sounds like your headed in the right direction.
BTW.     Hep C free is awesome!
Good luck

Congratulations on being Hep C free.
Not a doc, but think you need to follow up on why your ALT is high.  As you mentioned you feel sick, and have no answers as to why.   Not to worry you but have read that sometimes the ALT is high, and the ALT normal in someone that has alcoholic hepatitis.  Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver as previously mentioned.   With that in mind and your a drinker, you may want to stop for awhile and retest to see if it falls into the middle range.  I know as a former drinker, you can not feel well if your liver is not healthy.
Unfortunately I didn't know that I had the virus until 2 years ago, and drank prior to finding out.  Glad you don't have the virus, but alcohol and other factors can also create damage.  You may want to take note of anything which can elevate that number.
Hope you feel better, and you must be relieved with the negative result.

Hi.  I would get tested for the Hep C virus.   There is a reason that your liver enzyme is elevated and you need to find out why. The symptoms you described could be linked to Hep C.   Your Alt is elevated, and what that means is you have inflammation going on in your liver.
I know from my own experience have no idea how I became infected.   Was married for 20 years, didn't shoot drugs, no tattoo, ect.   My only thought is that I was infected by the dentist. You can get the virus very easily if you are a baby boomer, as in that era, medical or dental instruments were not properly sterilized.
Should you get a positive result, they have new drugs out that are up to 90% effective.  They are very easy to take with few side effects.  It's always better to be safe then sorry.  Being sick all the time is no way to live.  I do think its also the responsible thing to do, as you don't want to put anyone else in harms way.
Best wishes
Kim

There are some people who cannot point specifically to how or why they have hep c. Hep C isn't transmitted very easily but for example sharing fingernail clippers or razors could possible transmit the virus.

Just to eliminate as a possibility and to know what is or is not going on sure why not get tested then you will know

Good Luck

Yes by all means please get tested for Hep C, It may not be that but you need to find out. What ever it is, it not normal happenings. It could be hep c, I do not know much about hep a but I am surprised your doc has not already tested you for those.
