state of mind and sx during tx

I am a firm believer, that your state of mind plays a big part in how you handle sx, does anyone agree with me

I apologize to you. My intent was not to run you off or make you feel worse than you do. I've been here too long, perhaps. I am looking mainly for information and, quite frankly, it's too time consuming to sort through all of the posts to find it. I'm obviously the one out of sync here and it's not you. So rest assured that if you stay I will not comment on any thread you start, or are a part of, in a personal manner. I know that this is a support board and though I truly believe there is merit to my comment I should have expressed myself in a friendlier way. The truth is, though it really doesn't excuse my rudeness, I had just returned from visiting a very good friend and client in jail for a gambling violation. He had been telling me that all the inmates watched on TV was cartoons and "Cops" and that all of the conversation was vapid. Then I checked the board and it just hit me wrong - it sounded too much like jail right then and I didn't stop myself. So, I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings Diana - I really am. That's all I have. Mike

So if my thinker is working, when you finish 27 more you will have been und for 50 consecutive weeks? If the number will be 50, is there any criteria that would cause you to complete sooner? And after that riba (and I think you're down to a more normal dose now) you still have not required procrit?

well, there's more than a few people on these boards that ended up with the second time being the charm! keep my fingers and toes crossed...

I've gotten myself so mixed up, I obviously can't keep it straight or add! I've been UND since week 4 of this round, so for 23 weeks right now, don't know where I got the "36 week" UND I posted in the last post, I must be dreaming. So 36 weeks UND will be the middle of November and I am scheduled to do tx until mid February.
Good luck getting into the relapsers trial, I hope you get in if that is what you are wishing for. My doc mentioned again that he thinks the first round of tx "trains" the immune system and I will clear this time no doubt but now I don't really believe him, he said the same thing the first time.

Don't leave. I have received alot of info and encouragement by reading things you have said to people, plus your very funny, as are alot of people on board.

Some people can't help themselves. Their apologies even show their true color, but that being their intent.

Some people think way too highly of themselves, but as long as your not married to them, you can turn a deaf ear.

I'm sure mike can find some heppers in jail to talk to when he is visiting his friend/client with his gambling violation, since the board reminded him of jail. Please, he is too much. Real cute. And I guess that is supposed to be cool to have a friend that is away for gambling...ooh... he knows Tony Soprano.WOW!!!

Just stop the insults, mikey, no one is impressed...and the 2 sided apology stunk. It was very lawyer-like. Wake up tommorrow in a better mood. Everyone is stressed because of this crappy disease we have and we don't need to have fear put in people that they get to the point that they don't know if their question is worthy of a thread, because mike, the big attorney, might pass a comment and have someone else chime in for what ever reason they thought necessary to agree.

If you don't like a thread, why waste your valuable time commenting. If you're looking just for info on hep, read books. Support groups are also about feelings and emotions along with the info.

Well, no, I was UND by week 4, so if I complete the year I will have been UND a total of 44 consecutive weeks by the time I finish tx. I brought up the 36 weeks past first UND study to the doc and he said if I want to stop then I can but he reommends I complete the year. Who knows what I will do but if I do stop at the 36 week mark and it doesn't work I will of course think it is due to me not going all the way. Depends on how I feel then and how my blood work looks I suppose.
You asked about Procrit,my Hgb has hovered around 10/11 the entire time which gives me the symptoms of anemia but so far I haven't "needed" Procrit medically and if I did my doc would want to lower riba I bet. No way can I get the ins. company to go for it though. My doc isn't a big fan of Procrit and always tells me it comes with "its own complications"
He isn't real eager to put me on any additional meds and I am too lazy to seek out yet another doctor to try to get it. Now that I am not on such heavy riba I am hoping I will feel better soon. Please post and let us know what the doc says and what you are going to do. I agree with you that starting when the kids start back to school is a smart plan. How have you been feeling? Did the first round of tx seem to improve your overall health/strength? Are you having symptoms now?

Forsee, thanks so much for your positive input you are so sweet. I am wondering, will taking the AD interfere with you qualifying for the trial or is it ok to be on AD's? I don't know what their criteria is at all, I figured you do. I agree with FL, being tx naive will help you get in it. Good luck whatever you decide to do and keep us posted.
That's funny you said that about ad's. I thought he was talking about advertising at first too, my brain is not neurotransmitting right!
LOL.

Very well said Mike...
I too have been getting very upset at the ramblings, and lack there of, the sort of professionalism that this board use to have.
Delphi is full of soap opera drama, and MH has always been the information resource. Now with all the available threads, it seems to have regressed to a chit chat room. It has become very discouraging and aggrevating to weed through and digest the "relative" information, amongst the nonsense..

legal disclaimer I am in no way directing this at any particular person or pointing any fingers.. We all contirbute, and we are all worthy of blame.

I guess we're both looking longingly at vx. In that respect, you are wise to have kept your tx virginity. The hdcp is in the high teens. I play golf with my son often and that's a good time. Daughter comes with us and usually spends her time summersaulting or cartwheeling down the fariways. As long as she stays in the fairway, I'm no danger to her.

ha ha!, I'm so spaced out, I was thinking, "oh, he thinks I'm going into advertising?" wait...ad pool, aaaah! Oh! He means antiD's!!! They don't call me Quick's Draw for nothin Baba-looey!

Yeah, because I do suffer from chronic depression, I've been able to cope with it naturally, more or less, but I really want to get on these next Vertex trials, (they are out of my hospital) and I want to be able to decipher which anti-D is best for me by then, it might take a lot of trial and error, I'm just hoping that I'll be able to find one that works and that is compatible with my brain chemistry, such as it is, ha ha!

I played a little golf too, never got very good, what's your handicap? you don't have to answer that if you don't want to...Goof must of hit some nice courses over there in Bonny ole Scotland me thinks...

Yeah, that was the question. So when you finish in March, will you have been und for 36 weeks?
I have a doc appt this Friday which will tell the tale-maybe. It's vrtx trial site. If they think I meet inclusion criteria for relapsers, I'll wait to see if I might be selected (expecting them to start relapsers in the next few months). If they think that I would be excluded when the time comes (cirrhosis is iffy)then I'll do combo in the next couple of months. School starts for the kids soon and the beginning of a school year seems to be a good time to start a long haul. We'll see

I like Florida. I have a good tan, spend time at the beach, play golf often, kids get out of the house year-round. And the bonus...experienced liverheads down the street.
You know foresee, in this forum and over the many months of 'reading' people you draw impressions of people. You surprised me earlier in the ad discussion. Of many of the people here, and being a non-txer, and on balance - well balanced, I was a little surprised to read that you were dipping you toe in the ad pool. I don't mean anything by it - just an observation.

Just my luck, a math question!
Er, let's see..ok the train left the station originally last Sept. 3, I treated for 24 weeks, relapsed and began retreating week 26. I was UND first round week 12 and 24, this round week 4,12,24 and 36 and I am due to finish in March. Does that answer your question? Are you asking thinking about the 36 weeks past first UND thingy? Seems like I am going past that.
Did you restart tx?

Please know that this is an unmoderated board and sometimes the going gets a little rough...I've always thought that you need to develop a tough hide to hang around this board...there are many different personalities, etc...and then some people just have bad days, I've had a few...

You obviously know how to take care of yourself, but please don't go because you've gotten into a tiff here, if I had a nickel for every tiff I've seen here, whew!....They always blow over...There's a lot of support and good info too, , so please hang around if you've a mind to...

I realy really hope you don't let one person or a few people's comments chase you away! There are lots of others here, me for example, who enjoy your comments, so don't let it bother you and please stay and ignore those comments! I don't know why some people come to support forums and act that way but they do, just ignore them and read the comments that are good!

I have done 45 shots and I have 27 to go! Ack!
Try to look at it one day at a time, it gets too overwhelming if you do the math.
Got any good books? I can send you some!

But you find comments that are entirely judgemental and critical have merit and should be posted? I'll take stupid inane comments for 100, Alex.
I'll take inane, silly, stupid comments over judgemental, critical comments and name calling any day, thank you.
