You should finish your Riba on the Monday after your 28th shot and will have your eot labs on Tuesday, not the day of your 28th shot.
Thank you two, for catching my mistake! I was counting my first shot as shot "zero", and the second shot, shot "one".
I also wanted to thank OH, because she explained it correctly in the beginning of the thread :)
So now I am wondering if my EOT labs will be on the day I take my 28th Interferon shot, or the following tuesday, when I am all thru with the riba and the Victrelis. I will have to ask next tuesday. I cant believe I was off by a week, but then again, I can believe it!
Ohhh, I am off by a week?? I am so bad with math, I went all thru my date-book, and thought I was on shot 26. You two are prob right, but I will double-check, and blame the whole fog on "the meds" : )
Bo, flcyclist is correct. you have shot 27 today then next week is 28 followed by six more days of riba and vic. Three weeks eot for you. Yaaayyyy!
Bo, take a look at a calendar and count again. If I'm counting correctly and you did your first shot on Feb 7th, your 27th shot will be today and the 28th shot on August 14th. Since they send Inf in a package of 4, this will work out unless you had on leak or another problem. After Aug. 14th, another 6 days of Riba and Vic, with Aug. 20th being your last day. Hope that helps.
Hi Bo, not to be a bearer of bad news but they will send you one:) One of mine leaked all over the place and they sent me one over night.
Okay, well..I thought I was good, but I have to order another weeks worth of Victrelis, as well as the Intereron, so I'm glad I asked.
It is 28 weeks of Inf shots, and the vic and riba follow. I'm a completionist and a perfectionist. I will check with my Doc, but that makes perfect sense.
Haha, I'm actually relieved. In the back of my mind, I must've known I was a bit "off", heh. I was thinking the journey was ending too soon~
Whoah, I forgot that...gonna go count my little white bottles, thanks
Yeah, that's what I thought. I will see what the Pharmacy says. If they send me a 4 pack, I can always donate my last 3 to Oasis. My copay is very low, for which I feel very blessed.
But in a pinch, my Doc would give me one as well,
so I'm covered :)
The funny thing is how my body got used to the Victrelis, and isn't bothered by it anymore. If it had been 12 antibiotics I had to take, a day, I would be in terrible shape right now. But those Victrelis pills, considering I take 12 a day, are amazingly tolerable.
This is the first time I ever had to take medicine, besides a round of antibiotics: it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
And also you need to take the boceprevir for that week.
OH is correct, 28 weeks = 28 shots. When you did your first shot you followed it with a week of riba so when you take shot 28 you will also follow it with a week of riba for a complete 28 weeks.
28 shots in 28 weeks.
Since I didn't go to the class, I had to see the NP at the liver clinic before I could start tx.
This is how she explained it to me~ you take your shot, lets say on Friday, the following Thursday is week 1. Friday I take shot 2 and so on,
When I took my last shot, I still had to take riba for 6 more days.
Some doctors may have different protocols, but that's how I did it.
Why don't you talk to your doctor, maybe she can prescribe just one more shot for you.
