4 week PCR timing

I am scheduled for my first PCR on January 28th which in weeks would be at the 3 1/2 mark, but with the double dosing, it would be run the day after my 8th injection. (The reason for the 28th instead of the 30th is because my Dr. is out of town.) I'm thinking the following week PRIOR to my Tuesday or Friday shot would be better. Or doesn't it follow through since the double dosing alters the SOC testing times? My insurance pays for limited PCR's so I would really like to know the best timing for the first one.

Sounds good! I will push for the Friday on the 30th at least to get the blood drawn. I need a CBC that day anyway so it'll save me an extra poke.

Thanks for the info.....Pam

It would be best to take it on the day of your 5th shot... or for you it would be on the day of your 9th shot but BEFORE taking the shot.

If possible you want the PCR taken the last day of week 4 or the first day of week 5 but before your shot. This way you get the truest answer because there is less interferon in your body. Is it not possible for a nurse to take the PCR even if your doc is out of town?
