I drink plenty of lemonade in this heat...and I've been using a lot of extra virgin olive oil...It hasn't done a thing for me...but this thread is getting pretty entertaining!
:-)
Let me say that I actually tried an experiment with the lemon theory. I was drinking home made lemonade with 10 lemons per day. I had a constant puckered look to my mouth. When going to bank tellers, drug store pharmacists and so on, they thought I had a serious physical problem of my mouth because of the constant puckered look on my lips.
It didn't help get rid of any portion of existing HCV but I did make some friends out of pity, who thought I should go see a specialist due to the look of my constant puckered lips. In my opinion, the experiment proved that lemons did nothing but make me look weird...

This sounds like a bad acid trip listening to Led Zepplin's "The Lemon Song".
And brings new meaning to "Squeeze my lemon 'til the juice runs down my leg".
What really kills HIV? Exposer to air.
"Studies have proven time and time again that HIV does not survive well outside the body. In artificially high concentrations produced in the lab, HIV drying that occurs outside of the body reduces the number of infectious viral particles by 99 percent in just a few hours. Since the concentration of HIV in blood or other bodily fluids is much lower, HIV drying outside the body virtually eliminates all infectious HIV particles therefore making the risk of HIV infection from blood or bodily fluids outside the body essentially zero.
Keep in mind that while HIV infection from infectious bodily fluids outside the body is essentially zero, other diseases like hepatitis B and C can and do occur. Therefore, any blood or bodily fluid outside the body should be considered a health risk and cleaned up using universal precautions and cleaning fluids that are known to kill viruses on contact".

I am too sceptical of this lemon killing the aids virus...it may do it a test tube...but not in the human body,,,,i think this is what he means...just a post i thought was intereting....BUT...lemons are great for the liver and your health.
"In recent years, the lemon has been used to control the spread of the HIV virus, and has been demonstrated in research studies to kill the HIV virus."
I peeked at your article and it is interesting but very far from actual scientific research. The article claims that Dr Peter Piot says that the lemon can kill AIDS virus in a test tube - but, even if true, this a FAR FAR stretch from killing it in the body itself. And although he made this claim and appears to be a respected UN health figure - I can find no actual research that supports this assertion .
What I DID find suggests that lemon juice can act as a spermicide and thus help prevent the spread of AIDS - and this seems to have been warped by a variety of media into the message that lemon juice can be effective against AIDS.in the body itself.
What the media is reporting that Dr. Pilot is saying may or may not be true - but I can find no legitimate research that supports it so far,
We're ALL looking for simple and quick cures for whatever ails us - I think thought that the reality is not as easy as we'd like it to be. Personally I'm holding out for someone to discover that hot fudge is highly effective against HCV because I'm telling you , I'd be soooo there....
