Liver cancer is related to cirrhosis (stage 4), really not related to the lesser stages of fibrosis. Try not to worry too much until you get your results. Things will probably work out okay.

Most masses of the liver seen on ultrasound are NOT cancers. Oftentimes liver masses on ultrasound turn out to be hemangiomas or other benign structures -- try not to panic. Chances are it's NOT cancer. (And if it turns out to be malignant, early discovery and diagnosis is the best chance at cure -- most of the time liver cancer is asymptomatic until later stages, so early detection is key.)
You mentioned that you had a biopsy before starting treatment -- what was your stage? If you were not a stage 4 (liver with cirrhosis), it would be very unlikely that you would develop liver cancer. A CTscan and AFP blood test should give your doctor more information about the mass. Keep us posted, and best of luck. ~eureka
