How wonderful! I love Italy so much. So relaxing.
My husband and I used to travel a lot there, one of his favorite places to go was Viareggio, he would look at boats yachts and boats all day long! I saw the most beautiful yacht ever, (ok I would rather look at shoes, lol but this took my breath away!) Such wonderful lines!
I truly think the air is in Italy is different, it is magic! You guess sound like you have and are living a wonderful life! I love Roma, Assisi, Lucca oh love it all!
Deb
We go to Italy often. Mafalda used to work for Alitalia airlines and we could fly to Rome for free! When we were in our 30s, we used to go to Rome for the weekend!
Last year we spent three weeks driving around Tuscany and one week at the farm where she grew up. It was wonderful.
Eric
You should go there and sail, the med is so beautiful, the food YUMMO! I love Italy, Does your wife miss it at all?
Deb
Rangle, I might just take you up on that. Thanks for the offer.
Deb: It's my wife that is Italian and speaks fluent Italian. She was born in Italy and lived there until she was 10 years old. I just fake it!
Eric
Good news Andiamo,A light at the end of the tunnel

Deb: Parle Italiano?
nygirl: Thank you so much for all your support over the past year. This has been a tough year for many folks on the board and you are always there with support.
your friend,
Eric
Andiamo and Mafalda,
My thoughts and prayers are with you both and with Ms mother. You've got this disease beat, flat out - so of course some other problems would have to come along to try and get your down. Not that they will be to but it doesn't mean problems won't try.
You've been an spectacular warrior and putting SVR next to your name is going to be one of the most fun of them all.
I can't wait!
Be well my friend, and God bless Mommy too.
Bravo! on almost arriving to the end of tx!
To watch the fear in the eyes of someone in your life is so frightening! I have seen the fear you speak of.
Hope all is well now and Bunoa fortuna!
Deb
mauilady: I was sitting on the boat last July feeling sick from the drugs and overwhelmed by the maintenance required by the boat and along came a guy who asked if it was for sale. In a flash, I gave him a price and he said yes. So, no boat until I am off TX and feeling better.
I-horn: thanks for the vote of confidence!!
If I could give you a Gold Medal, I'd do it in a flash! You of all people really deserve it. There have been so many times I've thought of you, and tried to fathom just how you've managed to go through TX soooo many times. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the next 6 months for you.
Since I rarely visit the Forum anymore (the changes to it have a lot to do with why I don't, as well as the fact that I'm off TX....), what happened to your boat?? :-(
Many hugs to you---and a big Aloha!
Michelle
This time around is the charm. I know it.
I wish those of us in the bay area could meet. We are so spread out though. If anyone is interested in lunch or something, let me know!
Linda
LL: I am really looking forward to meeting you at the lunch. I will pass on your best wishes to Mafalda.
I am sorry to hear that your sister has health problems as well. It is great that you can help each other though.
Susan: See you soon!
Eric
Yes, I'm happy for you that you'll be stopping soon and that you've cleared the virus. I, too, am looking forward to meeting you.
BTW, I'm Irish, too! My great-grandfather was born and raised in Belfast.
Taa-Taa for now.
Susan
Yep! You are a very nice guy :) Also hoping your feeling 'well' for our Fla. lunch!
Sooooooo happy for you that it's almost over! And how great to be where you are, watching the dolphins (my fav!) , ocean and away from the 'family'. I can't even imagine being a caregiver on tx! And so sorry about your mother-in-law. I have seen that 'look' on my sister a few times, it's very disturbing :{
Before tx I helped my sister a lot (cancer/chemo 8 yrs. now) and we are both on 'chemo' right now. Believe it or not....she's helping me at times! She feel's that we get no 'breaks' in the meds, therefore not many 'good' days, whereas she has good weeks.
One of my main drives to get better is to be able to help her again, but I have not been able to -physically-while on tx!
3.5 weeks (now less:}......great! Hang in there Eric! And please give Mafalda my best in her mothers troubles. You both have a lot on your plate!!
LL
ladywhy: I promised you a sail and I will do it. If I don't have another boat by then, I will rent one. Thanks so much for the good wishes.
Trish: I will be ready to party!
Grandma: You are kind. I hope all is well with you.
MO: I am not offended and I appreciate the fact that you said you like me. I hope all is well with you. I don't know you very well, but I like you too.
Hello Eric,
Wow...can't believe March is upon us. My start date was the 17th! I am glad to hear you are finishing tx, it's been a long battle, and you have accomplished it with humor, and dignity...and your stories helped many of s. I hope you get back to writing...you have a gift.
As always, I wish you the very best...SVR, Health, Happiness, and more sailing adventures... Are we gonna rent a boat when I reach SVR.?
Y
That is tremendous about the coffee on the deck and watching the dolphins. I'm so glad you only have 3 1/2 more weeks on tx. YEAH! On to SVR!
You are such a wonderful son in law to help your mother in law so much in her time of need. Keep the adventures coming. We enjoy them so much. You are a brilliant and captive writer.
Trish, I'm Scot/Irish - had auburn hair for years. Went brown before it went gray. Lost half of it during treatment. Coming in thick now, 5 mos. post tx. I will get my page boy back. My grandson said, "Grandma you look like a boy." He's so honest. It's growing.
Eric, this year on St. Patrick's Day I'll be celebrating the end of your treatment instead. That's the meaning it'll have for me this year. Then I'll be holding out for the celebration that comes 6 months later. Us Scots are known to be fierce warriors...I make you an honorary member of my clan.... buaidh no bas!! Um.. just so you know? That also means eating haggis round about Jan 25 of every year..... lol Can't be any worse than tx...can it?? :)
Trish
4 more weeks! So happy to hear you are almost finished. I feel the tension myself as members near the end and the waiting begins. I guess we all feel that for one another.
I wish you the very best Eric. Ya know, when you first came to the forum, I didn't know how to take you, but as time went on, I saw that you are real and a very nice guy. I am sometimes misunderstood, especially with my dry sense of humor, so I should be the last to be 'wondering' about someone. I hope you are not offended by what I just said. I meant it as a compliment, but I know how things can someone come across the wrong way when looking at something type written and not hearing the words. But anyhow just wanted to say that I like you. You're a nice guy.
Fingers and toes crossed for you,
MO
