Checking In

Have received several PMs about my recent whereabouts so thought I'd answer them at one time. All is well and good but am  trying to significantly minimize my time on the computer so that the tendinitis in my arms and hands will hopefully start to heal. Hope everyone is doing as well as possible under their individual circumstances.

All the best,

Jim

jmjm, I was wondering about you.  Glad all is well.  I ended up with tendonitis from cleaning horse stalls.  My chiro had me buy a wrist splint thing and wear it only when I cleaned stalls.  Believe it or not it really worked.  Horses stay in field now, no more cleaning stalls.

Tendinitis is a bummer. I got tennis elbow from using a torque wrench for an entire shift at one of my old jobs. I was in a program for work where I went to Rochester, NY to take classes at the university up there for 6 weeks every summer. When I went to the gym, I did absolutely no arm work. It took the full 6 weeks to get better with resting it. Your doing the right thing, but we miss you.

I was ready to send out a hello myself.  Glad to hear you are OK.  Sorry to hear that it is that damned tendonitis.  I had chalked up your absence to the spring rutting season.

Take care....

Nice to hear from you Jim;  it's not quite the same without you chipping in, but I hope the rest really helps your arms & hands.   BTW, on top of exercises & supplements I've added barley grass & apple cider vinegar and was told to try some glucosamine & chondroitin.

Supplements for arthritis, but I'm starting to wonder whether mine is arthritic related or tendon related, despite being -ve for RA (before tx).... still investigating.

Hi Jmjm, how's Jenna (Jen?)  ;)

Same here, had to back off the comp. more time wise. I have also been having problems with my hands and a trigger finger (thumb), which is bad for riding and comp! I've been guessing carpol tunnel, will have to check out tendinitis.

Anyhooo, glad all else is well, Lauri

Goof didn't make the obvious joke, so neither will I.

Hope the tendonitis gets better fast. Just nod, don't type, if you are doing well!  You are missed.

Hi Jim,

Good to know you are still around.

A friend of mine, a writer, got a painful case of tendonitis.  She went to an occupational therapist who showed her how to improve her wrist and arm movements, plus kitted her out with foot pedals on her computer.  I don't have any more details but that fixed her up and she's still writing.

Wrist splints might be helpful. I used them for carpal tunnel, but they will help immobilize the wrist. Cost about $30 in CVS. I've seen them for about half that online. I needed a right and a left. Set me back $60.
