Happy Holidays Everyone!

Hi Everybody,
I haven't been on in a while- my hubbie's bx is coming up soon so, being the weirdo I am, I suddenly go into mini-denial and stop thinking about anything to do with Hep C and refuse to come on this site except to check my inbox. I have this little hamster as a pet and I've been on every hamster website on the internet to fill up the hours I usually spend here!
  But- I started to miss everyone and wonder how you're all doing. I've only read a couple posts so far so I'm not caught up yet.

  Ihorn, I did read about your broken leg- that sux. But the way you write stuff is so funny...lmao!

  I've not seen any posts from Meki- if anyone knows how she's doing- or if Meki herself is on- :D - please let me know.

Well I'm going back to seeing how everyone's been doing. Just wanted to say hi- hope you are all having as great a holiday as possible, and as always, you are all in my prayers.

Best wishes,
Dee

Hi Dee,
I hope all goes well with your husbands bx. I don't think its denial to stay away or to stop thinking of Hep c. That's great if you can give your mind a break from it all. I think that is healthy and also very hard to do. You have good discipline of your thoughts and mind.

I was wondering about Meki too. I hope she is okay.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Holidays.

Hi Elaine,
Good to hear from you- I hope all is well with you and Nick. I sent you a PM saying pretty much the same thing.
  Yeah, I remember Meki posting about that- last I heard everything looked benign - thank God. I hope it's all going OK for her- what a thing to happen right after tx.
  I'm obsessed with my hamster- spend more time and $$ on him than my husband- lol. I think I remember that you have birds, right? I hope they're doing great- pets are so wonderful to have, they add a lot to our lives.
  Best wishes and prayers,
Dee

Wow, you have a great way of putting the holiday spirit into words- you could write xmas cards or carols! And cold outside is right- this morning it was 5 degrees out here- a bit too brisk for me.
  Lmao- the driving thing. Those elves do have a bit of road rage goin on, huh? I'm trying to get better at laughing at grouchy people rather than getting caught up in their anger- it's much more peaceful- and safer too.
  Well I hope you have a wonderful xmas and new years!

You're right, it is great to have a place like this to come to. Even when I'm not on for a while, I think o all of you and wonder how it's going. Funny how people I've never met have become such a part of my life.
  I hope everything is going great for you- I still haven't "caught up" on here so I'm kinda clueless- but happy holidays!

Thank you- I'm sure hubby's bx will be fine. He's worried about the IV- cuz he has awful veins- and I'm worried about his platelets- but I'm sure it's all workable. I just wanna get him in there before he chickens out- lol.
  Oh, I wish I had discipline over my thoughts but I don't feel like I do. It's all or nothing for me- either I'm absolutely fixated on things I'm worried about or I ignore them completely. But I'm working on it- y'know, you could be right- maybe I'm making some progress :) ! It's certainly a hard balance to strike, between enjoying life without obsessing over everything and yet still being realistic and dealing with problems. I learn a lot from everyone on here.
  I know, I hope Meki checks in soon. I'm hoping she's busy relaxing or shopping- or something good!

  I hope you and yours also have a great holiday and that everyhing is going well.

Nice to see an update from you! I've spent $2500 this year on a year old cat with a blocked ureter(sp?).  He has special food, meds, etc.  We love this little cat but when is enough enough? Now the vet wants to do another ultrasound($500).

Sfwandwow,
Your dog sounds great! You're right, our pets do have that unquestioning, absolute love for us- plus they're a lot easier to get along with than the husbands- lol. That would be awesome if you could open up a kennel. And it sounds like you're doing well on tx- I'm so glad for you.

Dancegirl,
Thanks- good to hear from you too! I'm so sorry to hear about your cat- and one year is so young, it would be a shame for him not to live a long happy life. But I know what you mean- sometimes there's just a limit to what you can keep shelling out for $$, no matter how badly you want to. My Mum has had boy cats with urinary problems too- I remember the special food and her racing to the vet often. Sometimes it comes on very suddenly, a serious UTI, and kills them, so in a way you're lucky you found out what this is... but still, how stressful. I hope this turns out well for you and your cat- you have already gone above and beyond the point where many pet owners would, so you should feel good about that. Best of luck, and I hope you have a great holiday!

Prayers and best wishes,
Dee

don't apologize to me for loving your dog...I love to hear these types of stories...I have a beautiful white pitty with a pink nose named Petunia. She's mostly white and pink. She wears a very nice pink frock with a hood when it's cold, and she has a fake diamond encrusted collar, pink as well...she's the babe of the block...and one of the smartest, most gentle dogs around...

  Funny, and so true! The FEW times I have ventured out.....some nasty 'holiday giving' people out there! Nasty people and Riba moods don't go well. Have stayed home unless absolutly needed.
The beat you to the parking space is the worst, so I have been just smiling and giving it up....hollering Merry Christmas as I drive by :}

Your dog sounds like one of mine, bed hog and lays outside the shower....waiting! If I even pull out a suit case he is in depression! I have to take his leash. collar and lay it by the suit case!
(when he's going )!

  Happy Holidays all

Thank you! Hopefully hubby's bx will bring good news- but good or bad, it must be dealt with. I'm just so grateful that I have learned what needs to be done- I owe it all to you great people here!
  Your dog sounds awesome- amazing how smart they are, knowing the suitcase means "Mommy's leaving!". I got my hamster for my daughter originally, then fell in love with the little guy- he is so special and cuddly and fun. The only downside to it is that hamsters only live for 2-4 years :(. My Hammy is 16 months now and I'm already preparing for his golden years (or months I should say)- setting up his cage for easier living, feeding him softer foods that he loves so he'll be used to them when his poor little teeth fall out... my husband says I'm outta my ever-lovin mind and I think he may have a point there- lol.
  Oh well- have a great holiday and watch out for those crazy drivers! That's nice, your letting parking spaces go- I feel so much better when I do something nice like that rather than getting in some ridiculous fight and making a huge scene. I'm really getting a bit too "mature" or that- though  my kids find it hilarious!
  Best wishes,
Dee

  'Golden months', LOL.
  This is where hubby runs to the pet store to buy one that looks just like yours, sneaks it in the cage :}

I give up the parking spaces as I keep in mind...they are either just mean and perhaps will feel bad when I smile and holler Merry Christmas....or....... they could be much sicker than me :}
Funny tho, yesterday had to go out to 'insanity' land.....think Christmas shoppers can be worse than Riba rage.....but every where I went I got an up front spot and very little wait :}
     Makes NO sense to me....anyone going out to shop the week before Christmas KNOWS it's going to be a zoo of rabid (sp? Rabies:} .....people, waiting, lines, parking.....what are you mad for?? You knew it, deal with it or go shopping in August!!

   On that note ...Happy last minute shopping all and Merry Christmas.....Happy Holidays.....Happy 'days of off work' ....to all :}

Guy brought a seeing eye dog in training (Guide Dogs for the Blind) to our database user's group. He let me scratch it and sit with it. Most pet stuff I've had in years. Friend Kelly just spent $1000+ on her cat's teeth. Yikes.

Heppy Holidays!

You are funny but so true about shopping. I can't imagine someone with a riba rage not getting that spot!  I have heard to many tales of accidents on this stuff.

My cat ate a needle I was using to repair John's pants. $2500 to get it out. I knew he ate it because the thread was hanging out his rear. Kinda funny now that he is well. I don't leave needles lying around anymore, to say the least.

I love it!  A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down the medicine go down and then we go out and make the shoppers give up their spaces and the shop clerks serve us first , the shop clerk serve us first!
