Elaine,

Do what you need to do for you,  where ever you can find comfort, but understand some of us, no matter what forum you go to, will always be there for you.  So truly understand how loved you are,  So I guess I am saying you can not get away from us:>))

I think most want you to find comfort to be able to express your pain and hurt where ever you are.

Grief and all the stages and steps are intensly personal,   sorrow, anger, bitterness, peace,  I don't think grief counseling is a bad idea.  I understand it.

But for me, you are forever my friend,

Love you molto!

I have not been on the forum in a long long time and this just breaks my heart.  When all is decided on where to send the money and how or who etc etc please let us know, I will try to post in more often.
Nygirl you are so right about things financially being a financial bruden.  I am going through so so much with my hubby right now and he is in the last stages.  I hope for him to live through the holidays.  But, his whole family is tired and exhausted in many ways.  Some days you feel spread so thin you don't know what direction to go in.

ELAINE:  All of my prayers hopes and wishes go out to you.  I am lost for words to comfort you, My heart goes out to you.  And, when the really hard days hit I pray for peace of mind for you.  You are a strong women and I know that just from seeing your post through the forum. Keep you faith and goodness, the world needs more people like you with so much strength and hope while going through your greif.

Your strength and faith will guide you.
Again, I am so so sorry for you and your family.

I finally got my checking account and bank card out of the overdrawn status it was in so I can finally donate my $$$ and thought I'd bump this thread back up just in case somebody else was looking for it (it was just about to go to the second page).

I figure it's one I'd like to keep on the first page for a while if at all possible.......even aside from Nick this is something we should have done as a group a long time ago - it is a subject close to our hearts after all that we've all been affected by!

YAY finally I get to be part of the group!

I trust you and I was very ok with the American Liver Foundation, I know what a hassle it is to open any kind of account.  If it's anything that has to do with a bank, the government is gonna want to tax.  Hope you're doing well, as I know you suffered a huge loss.  You're the best!!  I send you hugs!!  God Bless

One way around the “Red Tape” is to set up a P.O. Box and we could mail Checks or Money Orders
Just a suggestion, R. Glass

Hey all,

I haven't forgotten about the finding out the information on those who wanted to donate to Elaine directly.

Its a little more complicated than I thought,  I have to apply for EIN number and then get the paper work notarized. Then I can set up the account.

Please let me know if you all think I should continue you with this, or just have all the donations go to The Liver Foundations.

Thanks

Rita - That's great - keep me posted on where to send it.

Elaine - So sorry to have missed you again - my heart is breaking for you and my prayers are completely with you. I almost melted when you spoke of the white rose. That is what we had for my step son Jimmy when he died at 14 yrs old and every year we would take a boat out on the water on the aniversary of his death and cast white roses and recite precious memories..he loved the water.

Nick sounds like such a very special beautiful soul and he will always be there with you...The greiving process is so difficult. I was glad that I had a strong support group -Methodist church and family and friends like these wonderfull folks at MedHelp. Keeping journals really helped me. I also had the most wonderful audio tape that I listened to constantly....There are some good sites online if you don't go directly to a councelor. My husband choose not to go and keep it all in - it eventually tore us apart and he was very bitter and withdrawn.
Like anything new - like discovering you have HCV for instance - there is a great shock and then you start to learn as much as you can and the shock becomes proactivity and then comes healing....I am so sorry that you are going through this....It also really helped me by becoming an advocate and I went to schools and did presentations to students and parents about the warning signs of suicide...by helping others and actually saving a few kids lives -  I finally moved past my grief I had created a  mission " To have the 4th R taught in public schools - "Relationship" and spent the next 20 years teaching adults how to communicate - 7 habits, Conflict Management, communication skills etc. The last class I created beofre leaving Warner Bros last year was Transforming Stress into Power....little did i know how much i would need it in this last year.

I'm sorry to elabrate....I have been incapable of typing or even moving my arms for so long...until last night...when the RA moved to my feet that I feel like someone just took the duck tape of my mouth...anyway please let me know if you need any inspirtational CD's or such and I will wade through my trunk of goodies.

Please get the help and spport you need and let us hug you as often as you need...never feel like you have to give us a break...of course we understand your in's and out's...just know if the load gets really heavy - let us help lift it for you.

So the moral to my story is often great things can come out of lose and suffering and it appears it has already begun with this remarkable group....if we can become advocates and influence changes that may some day save a mothers son or a son's mother or each other...what an awesome memorial that would be.

Hugs and prayers,
Mikkimoe

FYI to all:

Many members have expressed to me donating directly to Elaine, I am working with a Bank to set up an account that donations can be made to, In Memory of Nick, The bank would handle all of the donations and then forward them to Elaine directly.

I am still waiting to hear back from the Bank and will update everyone as soon as I have information.

Peace

I wish I were a poet, or had words to express how I feel right now.
You are an amazing woman, and your encouragement to me while I was going thru the brunt of my "stuff" I'll never forget. I'll never forget Nick, and am honored to donate in his name. You are being held in the hearts and prayers of so many. May you feel some comfort there.
With Love, Julie

Elaine, so good to see you here, some eloquent, touching words from you, as always.
Just beautiful you are. Nick is watching over you now, just as he asked the nurse to do.

I pictured you there, with the white rose. In my mind I can even see your tears.  I am grateful to you for sharing so much here, for sharing Nicks fight. Reading from you and finding the words to say are done thru tears falling.

My prayers go now to you, daily, to heal you heart in some way. I can never imagine what your feeling, what that loss is to feel. The closest I have even come can’t compare, and that was unbearable. Nothing can compare to the loss of your child. You have been an amazing, inspiring, caring soul throughout it all, even now in your grief.
You and Nick have touched so many hearts. The post, the words, the heartfelt feelings said here are heartwarming. We have so many kind , giving, good people here. My hats off to all of you also.

Your in my thoughts every day Elaine, I pray your days ahead are lightened and  your heart begins to heal,
Love and hugs , Lauri

Call me suspicious but there is no way in hell that I would send money to a total stranger.  As was mentioned earlier a form can be downloaded and sent locally for X amount of time.  Once collected all funds would be forwarded to National Office.

There are too many scams out there

Angel Elaine,

I just read the news.
My heart breaks for you.
You and Nick have been so much a part of forum, encouraging us, caring for us, laughing at us and making us laugh at ourselves. . .
I have few words  . . I am stunned both by your tragic loss and your graceful courage.
Feather hugs, wings to soar, thoughts of comfort and most of all love and thanks for all you and Nick have done to help so many of us.
Dear Elaine, i can't say anything else, now.  You and Nick are in my prayers.
