A family member has hcv and he's always very careful with all of his home care products but he leaned in to hug me and when he feather out some nasal mucas hit my mouth. My lips have been chapped and had been bleeding days prior in the crease but wasn't at the time. I washed my mouth right away but I get very scared about transmission that way. Is it probable that I would have caught it that way?
Please post your question on the hepatitis B forum.
This is the hepatitis social forum and it seems that most people here are people from the hepatitis C community.

one of my friends has hbsag+ but hbeag - what it means Whether he carries hepatitis B disease or not?
Yes, it is possible but not probable.
Kiss --- or kiss with yuck mouth?
LMAO!
Even with hcv not in the mix - why would you?
'The Body' says kissing has NEVER been proven to be a transfer method of Hcv.
hcv is transferred blood to blood, so yes it could be passed if both persons had bleeding gums, and or sores, etc. i don't know the odds of this happening tho...we're told not to share toothbrushes, or nail clippers, better to be safe then sorry....i'm sure someone here will have some better statistics for you....
it will only if the person who is on the other end of the kiss has bleeding on the mouth as well...
I've always wondered this too. If it is, I worry for the people I've been kissing *running away now*
