Beginning of herpes

I had sex on may 30th unprotected with a friend I've known for years.  She disclosed to me some things afterward that have me freaking out about who shes been with.  I went to the doctor and got checked out 3.5 days later and everything was negative, they gave me a shot and some doxyciline for G/C and slyphilis.  2 weeks later though I started having a mild burn, tingley feeling in the area between my leg and lower abs on left and occasionaly right side.  I believe this is where the lymph nodes are but it's hard to tell if they are swollen.  This feeling goes off and on and I rarely feel it standing up, only sitting down.  It happens quick and is not long.  It doesn't hurt to touch the area.  The oddest thing though is I ended up with the same sensation for few days under my scrotumn also but that's stopped. It's now just on sides.  I recalled I had a pimple with a white head on my left side near the area where I had the feeling.  I thought it was just a white head or ingrown hair and popped it which hurt some.  It went away and no other sores or bumps have appeared.   I've read I need to wait some time for blood test to be accurate but is it possible this is herpes?  My parents have hsv1(coldsores) but I never contracted it nor had a outbreak.  Other than those symptoms I've had a sore lower back but that has been from a injury.

you were treated needlessly with antibiotics without having any positive test results or even any symptoms at the time. all of your std testing you had done was done too early.  darn shame your provider so totally wasted your time and money :(

is there a chance that most of this is in your head? of course!  it's natural to worry after a questionable encounter. none of the pain you are having is due to a std.  not likely your pimple you noticed was more than just a pimple either.

so what do you do now? well at this point, to cover the herpes bases properly for peace of mind, wait at least 3 months after the encounter to seek out a herpes igg blood test. don't get one 4 weeks after the encounter - it's just wasting more of your time and money and you've already wasted plenty of that!!  should you get any new symptoms that linger non-stop for more than a few days, be seen for further evaluation.

I forgot to mention, Is it a chance it's something psychological?  I've been thinking about it and kind of down since the incident.  I went and got tested again but they don't check for herpes unless there's sores so I'm going again next week to get tested just for that 4 weeks after the encounter.
