When would I see symptoms

> 5 days ago I received unprotected oral sex
> 24 hours after the encounter, I had a deep muscular pain on my left buttock, near my hip/lowerback. > I was very nervous that this was a symptom of herpes, so I made a doctor's appointment.
> The doctor said it was not likely symptom, but gave a week's supply of Valtrex to ease my nerves.
> He also ran a blood test and confirmed that I was not previously infected with any STDs.
> I have also experienced mild flu like symptoms, but I was very worn down from drinking and not sleeping all weekend at a bachelor party.

1. How long after an encounter do men usually experience symptoms?
2. Could the Valtrex suppress these symptoms, so that they would not be visible for a longer period?
3. I want to have sex with my girlfriend.  Can I do that safely at this point without a condom?
4. Any chance 2 or 3 tiny, lossely space pimps on my buttocks (not near my anus) could be related.

Maybe never. If you are going to notice obvious symptoms they'd appear within 2-20 days

2. Could the Valtrex suppress these symptoms, so that they would not be visible for a longer period?

yes

3. I want to have sex with my girlfriend.  Can I do that safely at this point without a condom?

I wouldn't. To me if you have anything going on genitally - don't have sex again until it's completely gone - for many reasons.

4. Any chance 2 or 3 tiny, lossely space pimps on my buttocks (not near my anus) could be related.

probably just pimples.

I was totally agreeing with what the last provider you saw said to you in my last reply to your prior thread.

If you read our posting tips you'll see that we request everyone just keep adding to their original thread instead of making a new post with each new set of questions. It just makes it much eaiser for us and saves us time. Thank you for your future cooperation in this :)

The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com will answer most of your questions if you haven't read it already.

Has your gf been tested for herpes yet?
