Does anyone have oral hsv that they got from giving oral?

I'm just wondering if anyone here has gotten herpes from GIVING oral and had a PRIMARY outbreak orally as well? Mainly, has anyone had any symptoms inside of the mouth only or inside the mouth and lips? It doesn't matter if it was a primary HSV 2 or HSV 1 primary infection orally, just looking for someone who remembers their first time and what the symptoms were and how long it took for it to show up?

I have been looking online for someone in a similar situation as I am in but I have only found maybe two other people on other forums that has symptoms inside their mouth, but have not been able to contact them. Any feedback would be appreciated. =D

I feel your pain. 7 days ago I started with a fever for 3 days straight, then little bumps on the tip of my tongue. then really sensitive gums, mouth palatte, and then bleeding of the gums. My doctor said it is primary herpetic gingivostomatitis. I want to give you a tip that my friend gave me that works wonders. Lysine. It is an amino acid that will put the herpes virus back into hybernation in half the time. Suggested use is 1000 mg a day, 3000 if you have an outbreak. I have not heard of any negative side effects. I do not give oral sex, but I did receive it about 2 weeks ago, and am wondering if that is what happened to me, but then, I am not showing any symptons of Herpes down below at all, and I hope it stays that way. HSV 1 is what the doc said I have, and this primary herpetic gingivostomatits sucks cause Doctor said it can bring on gum disease, which causes the bleeding. My friend brought me Lysine, and the sores have calmed down. Try taking Lysine to keep the outbreaks in control. Hope all goes better! Oh and I too started showing black lines inbetween my teeth, I am now flossing regularly.

Hey Kaotic/keating..
I had a very similar experience as you.
oral sex/vaginal sex..
raised lesions on side of cheek.
for me - genital lesions, as well..

in mouth...
white spots..which doctors said "looked herpetic"
comes back occasionally...on the inside of my gums..
pretty frequently actually..
also... with the contacts... put contacts in..
had 3 week eye infection.
my doctor said that i did not have herpesin the eye.
im no dr. but i think i got an infection in the side of my eye..near my nose.
so he would not be able to see it on my cornea...
recurs in one eye only even though both had the eye infection.
left one usually (which doctors say is consistent)

u said itching in genital region.
do u feel a "burning sensaation"?
like it burns real bad..and then u see the white spots on mouth?

that's what my experience is..i will feel general discomfort..and a deep down burn in left testicle..that goes to mouth.

not to freak u out, but i suspect mine is herpes.
as when i get this attack on my eyes.
it will go away with one pill of antivirals...
i am still negative at the three month mark but i suspect it is from the antivirals that i have been on..for pretty much 5 weeks out of the 8 since i had symptoms.

either way...just to rule it out, i'd re-do the test.
and i am not saying my symptoms or my concerns about herpes have anything to do with you.
i am just saying that my opinion is that my symptoms correlate with herpes.

just my two cents.

let me know whatever you find out.
lets hope it is not herpes.
but also nothing more serious.

So, went to the dentist finally. Some new info came to light but sortof a waste of time. Basically, the sores were not there by time I was able to see him (seems to always happen with me)but my geographic tongue was in play along with my gums, from what I have been keeping up with since this started occuring, that these indented black lines were forming generally inbetween my teeth. He was kind of hinting towards herpes when I told him I was tested for that and it came out negative. Then I told him that I do have ulcerative colitis, and he told me it is possible that acid is coming up into my mouth. Of course, he had to tell me I would have to go see a dr to confirm since he is a dentist and this was not a dental issue.

I guess that is relatively good news, but I won't know for a definite until I Friday, or next week when I get the bloodwork from the test I will take Friday. I am pretty calm now, compared to what I have been at the beginning of all this. Just have to see what this last dr says and hopefully I am good from having herpes....but then I would have to worry about my UC getting worse lol.

Ok, just a little update here. So, went to the dr today along with the eye dr. So basically, the dr just read off my old results to me telling me i'm negative! Well duh, I know what the results say, but it was at the 9 week mark! Well, I asked him what the heck are these sores are on my tongue, and he never really said. He lookd in my mouth, and told me he didn't see nothing. Of course he wouldn't, they are going away...they been there for three days already lol.  I had to suggest about my ulcerative colitis acting up of a "possible" reason for causing these things.

All he could say is that I'll have to check with my gastro dr. to see if it has. Then he started talking to me about being gay and that i'm a "prostitute" if I only get the guy off but don't get off myself! Grrr, got mad a bit at that comment cuz I am FAR from a prostitute! Anyways, so yeah...he gave me some acid meds for my stomach, but he didn't really say if that was indeed what was causing it. He also gave me some more anxiety meds cuz that is all he seems to be obsessed with about me, I already know I have anxiety issues!! Though, I was actually calm in his office this time, so I dunno why he had to give me more paxil meds with bad side effects...

I asked if it was ok if I get tested again just to make sure, and he says he doesn't think I have it. I asked him if the 9/10 week test was accurate enough to be a true negative and he just shakes his head as he is walking into another patients room. Pretty much had to walk after him asking questions! Mad that he didn't even bring up any suggestions on what else it could be, grrr!

Eye Dr. looked at my eyes, didn't see nothing like herpes which I didn't think was causing the burning sensation this time. Apparently, it is the computer screens I have to constantly look at while i'm at work or at home. More eye drops...yay.  So yeah, that is how my day went. Not very happy, cuz I wanted another bloodtest to make sure I don't have it! Plus, I havent read anywhere online that says that stomach problems can cause acid to create sores on the tongue. Also, what about my gums looking crazy? They got darker in spots and in some spots, look thinner now....over the course of this month! Making a dentist appointment next week to figure that mystery out.

Mad I have to wait another week to see what another dr says about these things. I am def not gonna go back to that dr!!! I seem to be complaining that he said I don't have it, but I want to see EVIDENCE that I don't have it and not just his "word" from visual insepection!

at this point you know it's not herpes going on. it's going to take continued medical evaluation from medical providers and specialists to get to the bottom of things.

Ok, not trying to be annoying again.....BUT....do any of you have any suggestions on what it COULD possibly be? I did change my toothpaste and mouthwash but it still shows up...though it moved to the sides of the tongue now with some white gunk on it sometimes too. I have another appointment for my dr on Friday and another one next Friday but just wanted to be prepared on what else to test for.

yeast would be constant and not come and go. it also would just get worse and worse if left untreated.

Well, I went to see an eye Dr. again because one of my eyes became extremely red and irritaed and I thought whatever it was the first time had come back. I was told there were no signs of herpes BUT that I had an infection on my eye lids...that apparently is normal. He said it causes crusting to occur which can get into the eyes and irritate them. So, I guess that is a good thing there for that part. I still have no clue what is going on with the mouth issue though.

Hmm, I have noticed that there have been this white stuff developing on top of these "sores" or red spots, especially on Fri and Sat. I'm not sure if it might be a yeast infection. The pictures I have seen show the whole tongue infected. Also, not sure if the yeast infection could come and go so frequently, show for 3 days and go away for a few days and come back. I'm hoping that is what is going on with my tongue. =/

Makes sense, but the mouthwash I use does not have alcohol in it. Ya know, that "white stuff" that keeps appearing sometimes with these things at the begining of them forming makes me believe of a POSSIBLE yeast infection in the mouth....though I would think it would cover up my whole tongue instead of just the tip or sides lasting for a few days and disappear for a few days and then come back. Just thinking of possible solutions as to what this can be.

actually i recommend stopping the mouthwash and switching to just a plain ole toothpaste. there are many additives in toothpastes  ( as well as whitening products and chewing gums ) that many folks have reactions to.  stay away from the "bold" flavored pastes and gums especially cinnamon flavor.

mouthwash is all alcohol and very drying which just adds to problems too.

Bleh, i forgot what it is called but it starts with an A and it is white, red, and green lol. I was also using Listerine, but just recently switched to Crest mouthwash. Both seem to calm down whatever it is.

No, at the time he had seen me, there was just the sore on the tongue which he didn't think of it to be herpes but that he "couldn't rule it out" since I had oral sex with another male before. I didn't wanna keep going and freak out my insurance company or freak him out to where they will discontinue seeing me lol. Odd enough, yesterday my tongue looked super fine, like normal even without the geographic tongue. But right after I brushed my teeth, the "white stuff" came back at the tip of my tongue, and now I just looked at it today and it is three red spots close together where the white stuff was yesterday...hmmmm.

Well, I figured my dentist wouldn't be much help anyway, but I figured they def see a lot more inside the mouth than a regular Dr. does and can probably tell me/us what they usually see as herpes inside the mouth. I haven't really thought about going to see another Dr outside of the one I do see due to money issues. I agree though, it has to be something if it isn't herpes. I just hate not know what it is if I go on a date with someone and not kiss due to me not wanting to pass whatever this is lol. Not a good way to end a date if you like someone enough. =/

A dentist is a waste of time... You need to see either an ear nose and throat specialist, an oral surgeon, or someone who can do a proper cell culture/blood work to determine the cause of your problem. I've seen a dentist. They won't help...

I'd bet pretty strongly that you won't  test positive for HSV I or II unless you have had a previous exposure years ago. I've been through comprehensive testing for herpes. I think what we are experiencing is, unfortunately, something else. I've seen an Infectious disease specialist who has no clues. I'm depressed out of my mind and drinking/smoking a lot. Grace... any theories would be gratefully appreciated. We are not the only ones in this boat, so to speak...

I've looked at other forums and found people with almost similar symptoms I am experiencing. If you have been tested twice for herpes after 12weeks, then your results should be pretty accurate to tell you if you are poz or neg for it. I am going to get tested again in a few weeks just to make sure. And yes, I do plan on seeing a dentist, though I have to wait til I have enough money and try to get a same day appointment when I show symptoms inside of my mouth. I'm more waiting to see if my gums and tongue become swollen again due to that actually lasting a week with a decent amount of discomfort.

And, I am not saying it IS herpes, just I can't rule it out just yet. This all started AFTER oral sex.

I completely sympathize with your situation. I gave oral sex to a woman and a few weeks later I started to develop very unusual symptoms in my mouth that I thought were from a herpes virus.

Some of my symptoms include faint ulcer like cuts on the inside of my lip and the rapid appearance of fordyce glands on my lips and cheeks. The cuts continue to appear in the same place inside my lips and appear every few weeks or so. I also have had the same reaction in my inflammation in eyes and a strange recurring rash around my nose. Several months later I developed lots of itching, especially in my genitals.

The symptoms won't go away! It's driving my insane. I have been tested twice for herpes and seen 7 doctors including a dermatologist and infectious disease doctor who is a herpes specialist. They have all told me that I have nothing and that I am fine. But there are others who have posted about similar symptoms and  have also found no answers. I'm seeing another dermatologist next week because I'm convinced I have something that is a systemic virus causing inflammation in my whole body. I'm really depressed about the whole situation, so PLEASE post about any future diagnoses or clues you might find as to what is happening...

Have you seen a dentist?

Cuz the all the medical people I see can't explain to me what it is or offer opinions on what it could be. And not that I can't let it go, cuz I try to but then when it comes back, it comes back to my mind. And, I was just asking those who have it orally since noone seems to talk about it due to society thinking it "isn't a big deal" if it is located there.
