herpes transmission - genitals to hand to mouth?

I had protected sex with a CSW 3 weeks ago and have been ultra stressed worrying about STD and HIV.  About a week after, I felt my scrotum tingling for about a day, mostly when I concentrated on it and feraked out about it.  This may have been in my mind though.  I never developed any further symptoms and the tingling stoppped after about a day (perhaps I just moved on mentally).

Anyway, today I noticed 2 pimples on my upper lip.  Could I possibly have rubbed my asymptomatic scrotum and then touched my lip and gotten herpes like this?

It's very highly unlikely. Autoinnoculation is not common at all. And remember, even the chance of you getting any STD to begin with is so incredibly low, I would not even worry about it.

Thank you Petal.  But I am still wondering if transmission in the way I described is possible.  I tested negative for Herpes 4 days after this exposure so I know I didn't have it at the time.  My question is, could I have gotten herpes from this encounter and then touched my hand to the area and transferred it to my lips via my hands.

The folks who post based on the same scenario as yours have what's called guilt vs. risk. Protected sex and a one time deal means extremely low risk for any STD. Tingling alone is not a symptom of any STD.

As to oral herpes, if you've never been tested, you may very well already have it. The majority of the adult population does, it's incredibly common. Always best to know your own herpes status (and your partners), especially moving forward into a sexual relationship with someone else.
