Itchy and stressed

Hello,

Here’s the situation. I regrettably had protected vaginal intercourse with a stripper about 3.5 weeks ago and protected vaginal intercourse again with a random girl a few days later. About 4 days after the last encounter I noticed itching around my anus, but there were no signs of anything more. A few days after the rest of my pubic region started to itch pretty much all over, but mainly above the penis/lower abdominal area. The itch didn't continue in the anus, but the pubic region has itched and burned slightly in various places, including the scrotum ever since. There was no redness, rash or bumps that went along with the itching/burning. So it's been about 3 weeks now since the itch started. 4 days ago a flat pink circle shaped spot appeared on the top of my penis near the base that was slightly larger than the size of a pencil eraser. It wasn't sore, didn't itch, didn't feel any different than the regular skin and it subsequently went away within about 24-36 hours. Yesterday I developed another one of these pink spots up in my pubic region about an inch and a half above my penis. Now, about 30 hours later, it also seems to be going away at this point. I visited the doctor yesterday and she said it didn't look like herpes, but tried to take a swab of the area even though it was just the pink, flat lesion. I got all of the standard tests done and will obviously have to wait a couple more months to get a reliable HSV test. While I stress out and spend hours examining my genitals for the next couple months I’d just like to know if this sounds like any common herpes symptoms you’ve heard of before?
Thanks

Hi Grace,

I understand it hasn't been enough time, but I will go back and get tested as many times as I need to over the next couple months. I was just trying to provide an update and get your opinion on the latest development and whether you still think this sounds like something else?

Thanks again for you time.

you haven't waited enough time after your encounters for the testing I listed to be accurate.

Hi Grace,

Thanks for your reply. All of the tests came back negative. The itching has continued periodically throughout the day and in different areas of the pubic region. Most often it seems to itch right at the base of the penis though. I noticed another red spot Monday evening right where my penis meets the abdomen and it was very small (about 2.5mm), but almost looked like an open sore. When I looked at it on Tuesday morning it was no loner red and looked like a pin sized raised piece of skin. It didn't hurt at all so I tried to scrape it to see if it was an ingrown hair or something, but it did nothing. Yesterday and today it was pink and I've tried to look at it closely for signs of blisters etc, but I can't seem to make out anything but a pink spot. It does itch on and off though. I went back to the Dr. and was given some cream to apply to the area. I did request an HSV blood test as well. So now it's been over 5 weeks of itching, I've had the other two spots and now this one and they've all been on the right side of my pubic area. Do you still think this sounds like it's not herpes related? Just like everybody on here in these situations I'm extremely worried and stressed about this.

Thanks Grace

these don't sound like they are herpes related.

continue to follow up with your provider and/or a dermatologist as needed.

if you need the peace of mind, test for syphilis after 6 weeks and herpes after 3 months.   hpv is your other risk and we don't have commercially available tests to cover that base.
