Vulval pain

Hi,

Not even sure I'm typing in the right forum as I dont think this is herpes but here goes. For about 4 months now, I've been getting vaginal redness, pain, swelling and itching. For the first few months, it was present only in the pubic region so the doctor gave me various creams including trimovate cream which helped quite a bit but symptoms returned after I stopped using it. Then the redness/soreness spread to the area between my labia majora and minora and cracks formed in the skin. I went to see the doctor and she told me it definitely didnt look like herpes and advised me to keep using the trimovate cream which again helped. Now that ive stopped using it again I now have a red, sore clitoris on which a white sore spot appeared but was only there for one or two days. I went to ask the doctor about it and again was told it didnt seem at all herpes like. And now, since yesterday, my clitoris is red and sore again and I have soreness all over my vagina including now on my labia minora and near the vaginal opening. Its as if a new area becomes sore every week. It is slightly painful to urinate but I think I may just have a urine infection because it doesnt hurt when urine passes over the sore areas on my vagina, it only hurts in my urethra. I just need some advice on what to do next because im stuck for ideas and I've been abstaining from sex in case it is herpes, even although about 5 doctors have told me it isnt and laughed when I asked if I should get the blood test. Please help me! I want to have sex again and actually keep the amazing boyfriend I have.

Okay, thanks, I've been using canesten cream which has helped lots. I may post on the forums you suggested to see what responses I get.

we already discussed this in your previous post on your situation. this isn't likely to be herpes going on but if you need the peace of mind, seek out a type specific herpes igg blood test.

if they aren't testing your vaginal secretions for yeast and bacterial infections when you are seen each time, you need to insist on that.

At this point it's probably more beneficial for you to post on the gyn or women's health forums here. It's more of a vulvodynia or vuvular dermatitis  issue at this point than it is herpes.

It has definitely been going on since around christmas time, but more and more areas are becoming sore. Today I can hardly walk, and I cant abstain from sex any longer because its killing my relationship. I want to have sex tomorow if possible.

I haven't been tested for anything, my dischage doesnt have any bad odour but it is thick and white - could this be a sign of trush? I think the only reason I've been worried about herpes is because its the only STD I havent been tested for. What could it possibly be? Any ideas? I'm gonna go see a doctor again next week.

If this is ongoing with no periods of no symptoms you can knock out herpes from your list.  This doesn't sound like HSV at all.  It seems your doctors agree with that.

Have you been tested for yeast/bacterial infections?
