Herpes?

I just went to the OB/GYN today about some bumps along the crease where my leg meets my vulva area between my legs. She told me that those were just ingrown hairs so I was immediately relieved, but she said along the same crease of my leg (which has been very tender, but burning only in areas where she diagnosed an ingrown hair) there are 2 flat circles of skin with a pink/shiny texture, that look like they could be healed herpes ulcers. To be healed ulcers, would they have had to have been open sores and scabbed over? I can almost definitely say that none of that has happened because I shave down there at least 3 times a week and would have noticed that pain there if there was an open wound or a scab right? Or would it just be the healed shiny looking skin without the other stages? My boyfriend says he has never seen anything like this similar on himself. She did a swab test and I'm getting the results back soon but I am just so nervous and scared and wondering if anyone has any advice before then.

That's a silly statement for a doctor to make. Once the healing begins, a herpes lesion looks like any other lesion and has no special characteristics.

Your skin could easily be from healing pimples, boils, blocked ducts, irritations from rubbing etc.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you know what else could have caused the skin to look that way? The doctor seemed to think that was the only probable thing it could be, even though I had no other symptoms.

No this doesn't sound like herpes sores.

The better way to understand your herpes status if you have concerns is a blood test for IgG antibodies for HSV1 and HSV2. I don't recommend this though.

If the swab is negative, let things lie or if you can't then mutually test with your partner.
