Herpes Nerve Pain?

I too have pain that comes along with my herpes outbreaks. It only occurs when I have a herpes outbreak and at no other time. There is no doubt in my mind that the pain is a result of the herpes. The pain I have is in my buttocks, down the back of my thigh, my lower leg and even in my ankle. I don't know what to do. I have never consulted a health professional regarding the pain, I am discouraged because when I see others with the same problem in blogs, all the doctors that post usually turn them away from the possibility of the herpes causing neurological problems. What else can explain the sensitivity to touch or cold? I am a 26 year old healthy female ( other than having herpes). This pain only comes with an outbreak. Can someone please consider this problem to be real and help us solve it?

From what I've read, the herpes virus does run along nerve endings and can cause pain. So I don't think you are dreaming it.

You are having what is known as a prodromal symptom of your herpes reoccuring.  It's quite common actually.    I think you are confusing what you have with what others try to attribute to genital herpes that is more constant and unrelated to obvious ob's perhaps?  What you have is pretty typical.
