Thank you very much GracefromHHP. You are lovely!
none of this sounds like herpes going on.
if you get more recurrences of your symptoms, don't pop them, let them go away on their own. depending on the cause of them, you risk spreading it more by popping it.
the risk in general from a one time protected encounter is incredibly low. try not to worry more about it than you need to. I know that's far easier said than done though :)
Also, this was at massage place so won't be able to get her status. An won't be going back there or any other - feel bad enough about it.
Thank you Mistakeguy786. Wouldn't you (and GracefromHHP) think that the "exposure" was low risk given that I made sure that no part of my penis, groin or thighs came in contact with her skin during sex by holding the condom thus creating a shield so that insertion could not go beyond where the condom covered and my body or testicles couldn't touch her body during insertion( and position made it easy for me to see/assure this)?
Also, this really felt like pimple/clogged follicle. There was no whitehead or puss visible and when I squeezed it really popped like a pimple - didn't ooze like the cold sores I used to get. I thought the liquid/lesion from herpes is more superficial than pimple... Doesn't that sound more like a pimple as well as the rapid response to acne med? There isn't much for a Dr. To see now.
You know you popping the bumps isn't helpful. Be seen with your provider when you believe you have symptoms for a lesion culture to be done. Herpes can look like a pimple or it could look like a blister. Just be seen.
I would say the best thing in precuations is to know your partners status.
FYI - by end of day today the first one is almost gone and the second is much reduced. No scabbing/crusting/puss or whitehead. Yesterday and today I have used an OTC 2% salysilic acid acne topical med. 3 applications thus far. Appears to really be working...
That said, I'd still be interested in your opinion on the question above.
Also, for full disclosure, my concern was due to an encounter (I believe July 1st). Penetration where I used condom. I held the base of the condom the whole time to be sure that no part of my skin except the back of my hand came in contact with her vagina, buttock/perianal or even thighs.
I thought that was safe. Do you agree?
I have a follow up. I mentioned a new pump showing up on border of pubic area. Another started to develop about a half inch below that one about a day later. The one new bump that showed up felt like a pimple/clogged hair follicle. I squeezed it and it popped just like a pimple. The second one has evolved the same way, but when squeezed, it does not pop. It is red and a bit swollen from pinching, but not really painful at all. Questions:
1) do herpes sores pop like pimples? I've had hsv 1 orally since childhood and recall attempting that with the cold sores and they never did.
2) does the second bump that has not popped sound more like a pimple? Does to me...
3) is the fact that a second pump appeared a herpes concern, or just a second pimple (maybe from the creams I was using...)?
if I disagree with someone, I usually say so. I approached the fungal issue because it's the more likely cause based on your symptoms.
Hello Grace,
Would you mind answering the question above when you have a moment? I know this is volunteer and you must be busy, so I really appreciate it.
Yes, Mistakeguy is correct.
Thank you both, and my apologies for any confusion re the first partial post.
Grace,
Do you agree with Mistakeguy that Herpes would not resolve in one location and reappear in another/move around like this in a matter of weeks or days?
I removed your other posts so it's less confusing.
odds are this isn't herpes going on. you need to continue to use the jock itch cream for a full week after the rash is gone in order to properly treat the fungal infection. Instead of the diaper rash cream, I'd recommend picking up some antifungal powder to use in the whole general area along with the cream on the actual rashes. that'll help more with sweating in this summer heat that promotes fungal overgrowth.

Hepes won't go away and come back again within a few hours or even the next day. This could honestly be anything but sounds more like a fungal infection as your doctor said. Keep working with your provider for a proper work up. If your provider feels it is herpes they can do a lesion culture which should be done no later than 48hrs after the appreance of symptoms.
For your benefit I am re-posting with corrected spelling:
3 and a half weeks ago I noticed about 5 or six very small red bumps appear on the skin between my leg and scrotum. My Dr. said it appeared to be tinea but there was no itch. I used Tinactin as well as monistat and zinc diaper cream for a few days and it resolved, but then I noticed some more of the same red bumps on the other side. Then they appeared on my bottom cheeks - symmetrical around the bottom crack heading toward my anus, but not on the anus as best I can tell. Again no real itching, just the slightest irritation. Now yesterday I see yet another one on the right side, higher up, just above the fold of skin between leg and scrotum, in pubic hair area about an inch away from my penis. This one I can see is at a hair follicle. None have blistered
What does this sounds like? And, more importantly, does herpes behave this way - resolving in one area only to migrate/appear in another over this period of time?
