Herpes or what

i have what i think is hsv-1. I have tiny bumps on my face and around my eyes at first my face was very itchy and my eyes were as well i also have the itching in my ears i see tiny bumps as well i have had chicken pox b4 but i dont think this is a reoccurence of that. Because my ears act like this and my eyes go blurry no sensitivity to light though and this turns out to be hsv-1 am i going to go blind and deaf??? i think i got it 4rm kissing a guy. Ive been tested for hiv after over a year of no sex and it came back negative but i kissed this guy around a month ago. Since i havent had any blisters on my face what does this mean again am i going to go blind and deaf??? plz give me ur opinion.

im really worried because my sister is starting to have the same symptoms her eyes are itchy and her face seem to be getting itchy as well...my face doesnt hurt it just itches not all day but yeah im really worried about my eyes and hearing all this didnt start until after i kissed this guy over a month ago. All i do is cry can someone please give me some insight into this. i dont have red patches over my skin and tons of bumps like ive seen in zoster pix my face do get red when i wash my face or i wash my ears and then its red but the redness goes away after a minute so i dont know...im just afraid of losing my hearing and sight.

Chill!  Even if you did pick up HSV-1 from this guy, complications like sight and hearing loss are rare and take time.  It doesn't sound like herpes though.

If it was herpes, for your sister to catch it from you, you would have had to touch an infected part of your body or saliva to an area of skin on your sister that was broken (cut or pimply).  It can take a couple of weeks for symptoms to show so if you were only with this guy a month or so ago...doesn't seem like there was enough time for you to develop herpes symptoms, then pass it to your sister, then for her to get symptoms.

You can get a blood test to see if you have antibodies to herpes simplex 1 or 2.  If you're not comfortable seeing your normal doctor then check the phone book for a sexual health clinic.  It will be confidential and they should be really nice to you.

You can see your optometrist and get the health of your eyes checked, s/he can look for evidence of herpes scarring in your eyes by giving you some eye-drops that will open your pupils and allow him/her to see the back of your eyes.  You'll need sunglasses to wear afterwards because it takes a couple of hours for the eye drops to wear off.  It's called a pupil dilatoin eye exam, and actually it is a good idea to have on every year or so anyway just to check on the health of your eyes.

It is possible that there is something in your home, or in places you and your sister commonly go, that is irritating your skin, eyes and ears.  It might be as simple as that.

But, herpes can be caught by kissing an infected person, so make sure you ask some questions before you are intimate with people - there's nothing wrong with asking someone if they have ever had cold sores or how their health is, especially if you are going to be physically intimate.  You always have to balance having fun and being free to be impulsive with being responsible for yourself and the consequences of what you choose to do...***** sometimes, but doesn't suck as much as having an STI.

Good luck and I hope you both feel better soon ;-)

This doesn't sound at all like oral herpes going on. Both you and your sister need to be following up on this with your doctors for proper diagnosis and better answers.

do u think its herpes zoster? i dont understand how it could be herpes zoster they say u can only pass it to people who may not have had chickenpox me and my sister both had it. I dont have a patch or patches of red skin nor have i formed blisters i just itch somewhat my ears sometimes hurt and are very itchy. Do u think if it is herpes zoster i will go blind and deaf? i have these tiny bumps but their not very noticeable and my skin gets red when i wash my face and stuff. Ive only kissed a guy.

Honestly, doesn't sound like herpes, much more likely something like mites or an irritation.  See your doc.  Even if you have herpes (don't think so), you don't have to reveal to doc or parents that you've kissed someone :-) - a lot of people pick up herpes when they are children.  You have nothing to lose by speaking to your parents and seeing a doctor.

Just itching and no obvious lesions isn't likely to be herpes or shingles going on. The odds of both of you having shingles or hsv causing your symptoms is even lower yet.  Obviously something else is going on that you both need to follow up on . there are limits to what can be done online.

you are making yourself think you have herpes.  These are the symptoms of almost every single viral illness out there. you both need to go and be seen. there is nothing else until you do that that we can possibly help you with at this point.

no, you will not go deaf.

No, it's not herpes. get a grip and go see a doctor about this.

My dog had what appeared to be a bump or something on her tail and then i noticed one on her ear we all thought maybe she had been bitten by something...but idk also my mom's bf broke out with this rash it was tons of bumps all over his wrists it cleared up within a couple of days then my mom got a bump on the roof of her mouth i guess i just feel ashamed and guilty because i put my family at risk even though i had no idea this guy was possibly infected...i do have anxiety disorder but im not making these things up...its just with everybody having these symptoms and even my moms bf is worried it just stresses me out...plus my sister has the same symptoms as me...does everybody who has ocular herpes eyes swell up and permanetly closes? I also had a couple of bumps in my mouth but they have been there for a little over a month and they havent gotten bigger or smaller nor do they hurt...and because i have the same problems on my head does that mean it will infect my brain???? i know i sound paranoid but if this does turn out to be hsv-1 i want to know what im up against. I guess im just trying to find a way to cope and stop stressing but its extremely hard because of the anxiety disorder. Also if two people both have hsv-1 can they still get hsv-1 genitally? i havent had any lesions other than all these tiny bumps on my face and my ears and all this itching my skin gets all red and seriously looks like and feels like sunburn and im black! i am going to the doctor on tuesday im just trying to get some peace of mind. Plz answer my questions if u can i dont mean to be a pest im just worried thats all.

also can hsv-1 affect the eyes, ears, and head as well as entire face...from what i have read it mainly occurs around the mouth or on the lips...my main concern is the brain thing any feedback would be greatly appreciated also if this is on the back on my head am i at great risk for the brain problems. Oh and thanks to everybody who took time to respond i really do appreciate it!!! and i have been to see a couple of doctors all who have refused to test me just saying that herpes is common even after i told them about my eyes and things they just blew me off so ive been kind of weary of going to the doctor but like i said i am going.

If doctors are telling you that it's not herpes, you need to believe them.  perhaps a dermatologist could give you better ideas as to what it is if your regular doctor isn't being very helpful.

I already told you several time that this doesn't sound at all like herpes. Not sure what else you want me to tell you?  there are definite limits to how an online forum can help you and you have reached them at this point.
