Flu like

21 days ago i had unprotected vaginal sex with a 22 year old female friend. I am a male
Last night i came down with a small fever 99.1, sore throat and general feeling of sickness.

As of now i have no rash or sores but was wondering if this seems typical of first herpes outbreak.

most often sores comes first and similar to any other virus like the flu

I have read sometimes the fever comes before the sores but for the most part the fever comes after?

Hi, 21 one days is a stretch as first time outbreaks symptoms on average a week later. Also a sore would develop before flu like symptoms not after. If she did not have any vaginal or lip sores at the time, your risk would be close to zero from a one time affair.
Most at risk for contracting herpes are in long term monogmous relationships where one partner is infected.
