Herpes..

Totally scared right now.

The last time I had sex was 05/12. Protected penetrative but uncovered oral.  I didnt think of anything at that time.

Fast forward to today (5 weeks later). I wake up, and I have a shower. Nothing noticeable in the pubic area. Go to the gym, have another shower and again, nothing noticeable. Go out with dinner with friends, and go to the toilet there, and I notice nothing new.

Sometime during the night, I wake up and go to pee and see a sack full of liquid within my pubic hair, and another smaller one. They are close together, and I see no other ones. My first instinct is to pop it, so I do. Blood and some other liquid come out.. I can't tell what colour it was. Currently, there is nothing in my penis, or balls. I dont see any additional blisters.

I'm constantly checking for other blisters... I am not sure what they looked like before I popped them, it took me aback. Prior to this, I had no real itching. I felt an itch once during the day, and gave it a scratch (light scratch, maybe 1 swipe). Even now the sores are painless and don't give me irritation. I am not completely paranoid that because I didnt wash my hands the first time, I popped them and so I will spread it to my face and everything. I am close to having a panic attack.. I've always practised safe sex, and I dont know what I've done to do this.

Because I've popped them the doctor is unsure if its herpes, but he thinks from the remnants (whats left on my pubic region), it looks like mollusc.. but he has taken a culture swab.

I dont understand why its taken so long for symptoms to manifest?

Thanks life. You've been a big help.. I'm obsessing over this right now and I can't concentrate at work.

What happens if the second swab is a negative as well?

One of the telling charactoristics of moscullum is a dimple in the middle but it should be some what hard as well.

Ok, a blister has formed just below my penis gland. My foreskin looked highly irritated last night and I gave it a few scratches last night. When I pulled it back today, it looked fine but the blister is now clearer. The general area is giving me some discomfort but I am unsure if this is the pain that herpes blisters cause.

I suspect now that my first swab was a false negative..and this is some form of break out. The only saving grace is that the blister has a noticeable dimple in it, but I am unsure whether this was cause I broke the blister while scratching last night because I didn't see it there before.

But if my second swab is a negative, what's the conclusion? Does it mean I truly do have moscullum and the doctors have spread it to my glands?

thanks Life and fleetwood.

quick update: my original swab is negative. i got this from a GP. this was a relief. this was given to me at the end of the day, but i was so anxious throughout the day, i couldnt think.

It was during my anxiety, i went to the STD clinic, and the doctor who checked me out also said it was moscullum, and originally said we didnt need to do a swab. but she knew how concerned i was, and then said she'd do a swab. so i will have another result coming in.

I was concerned, because when both doctors looked at 'moscullum' sites, they touched them, then proceeded to roll my foreskin back and inspect my penis head. this disturbed me, because if it was moscullum or herpes, it would spread to my penis head and foreskin!

in my paranoia, i've been checking the penis head. being uncircumcised, it is sensitive. i noticed that the skin that is rolled back is particlarly red on my right side, and i may see a hint of a blister there already but i can't tell for sure. ever since i've seen them, i've been getting odd sensations in that region but i cannot tell if this is herpes related or me being hyper aware of the situation down there. i'll be going back to the std clinic tomorrow and will ask for a blood test.

thanks all. i do not have a good feeling about this..

I would agree with Fleedwood that it doesnot suggest herpes from your last affair. Since first time outbreaks occur at point of contact your pubic hair could have been a barrier not allowing the herpes virus to enter also first time outbreaks most often are painful. Also 5 weeks is a bit outside the window period. Also if she did not have any lip sores at the time your risk for contacting hsv1 would be close to zero. Do have a blood test as well as swabs are only good for confirming herpes and having a negative swab would not rule it out, thats why a blood test is in order.

Thanks Fleetwood.

I see no additional blisters... Does anyone else have anything to add? I'm just so scared right now

It's not likely that you were infected during the episode you describe. I'd certainly think about a blood test as well. Overall though there are a few things it could be and molluscum is certainly one.
