Just a follow up question for anyone who wants to chime in. Is the actual "genital" skin, such as penis, vagina, anus; really where the majority of infections woudl happen because the skin is more delicate? If someone had genital herpes and their genitals rubbed on my stomach, upper legs, etc.; would these areas not really be prone to herpes infection because the skin is thicker. Just a follow up question to my body massage.
No it would not change my reply as the areas your mentioning are not areas where the virus would be prone to enter. They prefer the soft mucus areas like the genital or lip areas.
Just out of curiosity I was wondering if your answer would change if the body to body massage was nude between two males. The other males genitals probably would have rubbed up against my stomach region and mine may have rubbed up between their legs as they did lay face to face on top of me and grinded around a little. This only occurred for about 30 seconds to a minute and there was no genital to genital touching and at no time where their genitals near my backside either. I did not really notice any lesions on this person.
This episode happened more than 3 months ago and i never felt or saw any outbreak of anything. I really did not think of this as a risk at all. About 2 weeks ago i felt what i thought was a hemmaroid around my anus that is still bothering me and i starting to read about herpes outbreaks around the anus region. I assume i would not have an initial outbreak around my anus 3 months after this episode, especially since there was no contact near that region. Also, I would also assume i would have noticed an inital outbreak, since people say the first one is the worst, within a few weeks of the episode back in march or early april.
I had a definitive HSV2 lgg negative blood test earlier this year so i know that i did not have it going into this massage. Please help set my mind at ease as there is so much varrying info out there with regards to how easy or difficult it is to catch HSV2.
Body massage would not be a risk for contracting herpes.
I was wondering if I could ask a few follow up questions. What would an initial outbreak be like? I have heard that you could have a fever, flu like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes, etc. I am asuming this would be in addition to an actual lesion outbreak. I am concerned because i got a body to body massage at a massage parlor back in March and I do remember getting a fever 2 days in a row about a week after but never noticed any herpes sores, which I am sure I would have noticed.
Is it possible for a fever to be the only symptom and no lesions appear with the initial outbreak?
Hi, yes it would be at point of contact like your pubic mound area.
Forgot to mention that I am male and sex was protected vaginal with a female. This was not anal sex!
