Hello, all!
About 24 days after having sex, I noticed what looked like a zit on my butt cheek that hurt a little when sitting. I then noticed a few more and scheduled a herpes test for the next day. The test was a culture, which I know can be inaccurate, but the PA said not to be overly concerned however the symptoms at least warrant a test. I am still waiting, but have developed several other symptoms that make me believe it may be something else. To be clear, I engaged in protected vaginal and unprotected oral. My current symptoms are as follows;
1. Around 7-10 zit like bumps, scattered in nature across both cheeks but some are close to other (not clustered though) minimal if any pain. No clear fluid, but some do have a head similar to a zit but only a few.
2. A slight burning right above my crack that intensifies when I sit for too long
3. Pain around the anus (I have IBS and thus, hemorrhoids) only when I sit.
My understanding of herpes is the site of transmission is usually the site of the primary outbreak. If this is my primary outbreak, why is it on my ***? I know reoccurrences can show up anywhere in the boxer region, but a primary OB of anal herpes without any contact around my bum seems highly unlikely based on my research. Although, I also understand herpes shows up different in everyone. I was tested several years ago and came away clean and have only had 2 partners since then (both claim to be clean, only one do I trust ha). If it matters, my *** is somewhat hairy, which made me think it is perhaps folliculitis. However, the observation that any pain I have is centralized to the top of my *** cracks make me wonder if it could be a pilondal cyst? Initially, I thought the burning was the first stage of herpes, but it occurred exclusively when I sat and has continued for 3+ days.
I've already accepted the likelihood it could be herpes based on the high prevalence of the virus, but has anyone with hsv2 had an experience similar to mine?
Any insight would be great, thanks!
