Herpes or bacterial infection?

I recently had a sexual new sexual relationship with a girl. We both got out of long term relationships and didn't use protection.

We had sex four times before I started to notice some major irritation on my pelvis right about at my pubic hair line Thursday morning and there was also some irritation on the Penis. I shaved prior to the first night we had sex(Sunday) and then spent much time during the week in a speedo swimming, and tight compression shorts for biking and running. By Friday morning there were 6-7 irritated pimples on my penis, two on my scrotum and four or so on my pubic area. The girl thinks it is a bacterial thing and also has some irritation. Neither of us has ever had prior symptoms of an STI.
