Are you experiencing any fevers, headaches, muscle aches, or discharge? Although the primary infection episode of Genital Herpes varies from person to person, those symptoms could be part of the primary/initial outbreak.
More information regarding genital herpes here:
http://www.medhelp.org/medical-information/show/2609/Genital-herpes
Remember there is more than one page, and there is "Next" button near the bottom.
The article reads:
"For people with no prior contact with HSV-1 or HSV-2, initial infection involves both whole body (systemic) and local symptoms."
Read through the article, but REMEMBER, try to not self-diagnose, because a lot of stress could bring on symptoms of something you think you have that you probably don't.
For example, a man who is overly obsessed with thinking he has chlamydia or gonorrhea could actually present the symptoms of those infections, when in actuality, he doesn't have it, because he developed prostasis due to stress of obsessing and worrying over it, and prostasis can also cause urethritis and discharge like chlamydia or gonorrhea.
On an added note, a female friend of mine once developed blisters in her vagina, and the doctor told her she had herpes. But she found out that this was not the case a week or so later. So yes, test results take a while, but relax a little and take a breather, because it will all work out for you in the end.
