Worried about Herpes

Very worried about Herpes, it's been about a month now and i'm having very bad anxiety about it. I was diagnosed with a fungal infection about 2 weeks ago and they said it was not herpes but i am obviously not convinced. I went for a blood test last week and waiting for results but i believe it's too early for that.

Symptoms
- The main symptom i am experiencing is sciatica which from what i read online is a primary symptom of general herpes. I've had the sciatica for approximately 1.5 weeks now. I went to see my chiropractor who says it can be from sitting too long (i work an office job)
- Headaches - occasional headaches and fatigue not constant but this could obviously be anything
- Rectal burning: about 2 weeks ago my rectal area was burning for about 2 days did not see any bumps or lesions and checked the area constantly. This subsided and passed
- About a week ago this came back and lasted about one night only no signs of anything.
- Have not experienced any fever, swollen nodes etc
- I've had upper back pain and a weird feeling in my right arm

Today is why I am very worried, I seem to have an anal fissure around my anus. It does not look like a bump or anything it looks more like a 1-2 cm large cut. If i wipe it, there will be small amounts of blood on the tissue. Its very painful to pass stool and is burning. Over the past few days I have been bending over and spreading my anus to its maximum potential looking for any signs of herpes. Is it possible I caused an anal fissure by stretching the anus with my fingers? The area is not itchy just burns, feels like a cut. The area around the rectum looks purple and swollen i can upload a photo if anybody would like to see.

Any input would be appreciated.

not herpes, that's for sure. You've had heaps of butt pimples before, just never took notice.

If this was herpes, then an initial infection with HSV1 doesn't wait around for 3.5 weeks before causing issues. You'd be experiencing lesions within 4 days on average. This is almost certainly not herpes. If you already have oral cold sores then genital HSV1 can be essentially eliminated as a cause.

Hello Fleetwood.

Sexual encounter was oral sex 5 weeks ago. symptoms started about 1.5 weeks ago.

Any other advice would be appreciated. The sciatica in my leg is painful and seems too coincidental.

Back pains are quite rare with herpes and would just about always accompany lesions.

Headaches are also rare with genital herpes.

Rectal burning, purple look is very often stress. Yes fissures are very common and caused by too much poking around.

Upper back and arm also not related to genital herpes.

Hence no reason to suspect herpes, unless perhaps if you have had sex with a partner with HSV about 4 days before the symptoms first appeared. What is the sexual history here?
