Vaginal burning -Herpes?

Three weeks ago, I was fingered by a guy who was also pleasuring himself without washing his hands in between fingering me. I do not know his std status, but he seemed deliberate in touching his penis then touching inside my vagina. Within the same week of this encounter, I experienced flu like symptoms including burning AFTER urination, chills, fatigue, swollen neck and groin nodes and lower back pain. I visited my gyn and suspected a uti, was given cipro, however, the culture was eventually clean. A week later, I went back in and asked about herpes testing. During the swab, it was painful and I felt an extreme burning sensation which has continued. I was told it did not look like herpes (no lesions), but that the swabbed area was red and raw! The swab has since come back negative for herpes. However, my vaginal burning has remained and is becoming more constant .  I also have thin, milky white discharge. At the time of the swab test, I was also sent to Quest for Herpeselect testing. Those results are pending.

I am at a loss for what may be going on with me. My vagina burns and is tender inside! There is no external redness. Aside from the cipro (which I took two days pending the urine culture), I have previously taken doxy for 30 days and diflucan for an unrelated health issue. Please advise.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have been driving myself crazy thinking I contracted herpes from being fingered. I figured because it's a virus--and given my flu like symptoms immediately after, it was a possibility. I have an appt with my doctor's office next week (couldn't get me in sooner). I noticed today my discharge is no longer thin or milky. It is now white little specks, which may very well be yeast as you indicated. I hope it is indeed simply vaginitis. I will provide an update when I have one.

Thanks for your time.

you won't get herpes from  mutual masturbation.

you need to return to be seen for testing for vaginitis at this point. Your discharge sounds like bv though since you've been on antibiotics, yeast is a possibility too.
