hmmm... I had sex about 2 months ago with a guy who did that thing where he puts the condom on but then its inside out and flips it around. what is the probability of catching chlamydia or gon from that? I have heard that its really bad to do that with a condom but what is the actual likelihood of catching a fluid-transmissable std from that?
also, she said there was no way I had a bacterial vagniosis going on, how could she know that before doing std tests? I assume a full wet mount and examination of discharge was done. also, do you know what white blood cells in discharge and urine can mean?
the thing about herpes is, if I got it at all, statistically it was probably from my monogamous boyfriend who I had years and years of unprotected sex with, rather than a protected one night stand with someone with no visible sores. .... right?
yes other std's can cause soreness if they are causing you to have discharge. You also treated with a topical antifungal that can cause rashes too so at this point, hard to know just what all is going on.

I know, thats why Im confused as to why the doctor didn't think it was herpes. the only thing I can say is, if it is, its extremely atypical... unless a red patch inside your vagina is typical of herpes? is it?
you're right, I could get a herpes blood test but it still wouldn't explain whether or not what I am experiencing is a herpes outbreak. especially since I have no lesions or sores and its way too late to do a scraping. do you think a herpes outbreak could last this long without changing in appearance? to be honest, it feels a little more painful after 12 days but it looks the same.
I asked her about chlamydia and gonnorhea but she said it wasn't likely. I am waiting on those tests. Can either cause soreness inside your vagina?
Condoms are only 30-40% reduction in transmission of herpes. Why not get a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is for peace of mind? If you've had 10 partners, statistically 3-4 of them have had hsv1 and 2-3 of them have had hsv2.
Actually herpes testing should be suggested to anyone who goes in with the symptoms you went in with :(

I don't have a partner but I know I've never had a blood test for herpes. i'm mid 20s, I have had sex with maybe 10 people in my life, only 2 without condoms. I get cold sores sometimes on my lips since I was a kid. The red spot must have been there for at least a day or two, because it was my gyn who noticed it. But I asked her about herpes and she said no. Since the exam it has been 12 days. It seems more sore now. The reason I went in was because I thought I had a yeast infection. She said she couldn't find yeast. I read that herpes is almost always undiagnosed and the sores aren't classic in appearance. I don't remember this ever happening before, but maybe I didn't notice it before?
can you tell me why people including doctors mistake yeast infections for herpes? Sores would be pretty obvious to me, I don't know who would mistake that especially a gyn. but if its just red areas then how can she know?
Oh many things can - even things as simple as detergents, soaps etc.
At this point just continue to follow up on this. If it's still there in a week, return to your provider for further evaluation.
Have you and your partner ever had herpes blood testing done to know who has what?

yes she said I didnt have any infection, and she didnt find yeast but she gave me a terazole cream anyway. I used it for 7 days while I had my period. She said I had white blood cells in my urine and in my discharge. She didnt seem concerned about herpes even though I asked her if it was a possibility. I am really worried though. what else can cause a red area inside the vagina?
Did the gyn do any other testing?
