hsv2 symptoms and testing

I dated a guy for several months last year. Durning the time we had sex, both oral and vaginal, protected and unprotected. Prior to contact we were both tested separately and both were negative across the board.

Starting mid Sept I started having pain during intercourse and experiencing symptoms consistent with yeast or bacterial infection, like burning, itching, irritation, and discharge. This prompted my partner to get retested at which point he was positive for hsv2.

Our last contact was Oct 7. He tested positive a week later and I promptly was tested a week after that. So two weeks after our last physical contact. My tests were all negative.

I recently returned for full tests again on Jan 20 and my results came back negative. However I've been experiencing symptoms similar to those above since mid November. I know nothing with Herpes is definitive but I'm freaking out over ever itch, bump, tingle thinking it is an outbreak.

So was curious:
1) if I have been experiencing symptoms associated with hsv2 since mid Nov would my Jan blood test have come back positive?
2) how long should I wait to 100% rule out the chance I conteacted hsv2, 6 months? Or is it likely the test would've been positive at 4 months in January?
3) I have experienced those symptoms above in addition to others listed with hsv2, however there are many variables in my work and stress level that could cause. Could symptoms be so mild as a yeast or bacterial or would I know if I was having an outbreak caused by hsv2?

Thanks for your input.

Best to slow down here and consider the test results.

Can you confirm that the tests you had before you commenced sexual relations included negatives for IgG HSV1 and IgG HSV2?

What test and what was the result did your partner have when they tested in September? I have to say it is a little suspicious that he'd run and test and suddenly be positive.

Can you confirm your tests are for IgG HSV1 and IgG HSV2? If so, the negative is conclusive that you do not have HSV2.

P.S.  I also had an inflammed cervix before having painful urination.
So it went down like this..

1. Inflammed cervix for 1 month.... painful intercourse.
2. UTI symptoms and tested positive for UTI.
3. Little discharge, but nothing alarming
4. The sore followed by fever for a month or so..
with tingling all over my thighs
5.  Culture test
6.  Positive for HSV 2
7.  2 back to back yeast infections

After 6 months of being so depressed and in pain, life had a turn for me. I was able to cope because the people in my life were accepting and educated about the herpes virus.

Good luck!

Hi,

When I first started with HSV 2 before being tested by culture, I had painful urination, like peeing razor blades, bleeding during intercourse, some yeast, and my tests would come back as a UTI...crazy right?
A month after all of this being treated for a UTI, I got a sore...still peeing razor blades for like a month until I got onto some really good UTI medication to help the pain from the dr. So, with this sore, I was able to test it because the blood tests I was told are always false positive.

After being positive from the culture test, I had 2 yeast infections back to back. Let me just say, you'll know something is wrong because it isn't a walk in the park.  I was sick for 6 months with a fever and aches. I don't know if that was just me, but my body took it hard.

I would think that if you were positive, tests would have shown that quickly.  I think you possibly have a yeast infection if it's just that because herpes isn't just discharge.
