I am dating someone who gets coldsores (HSV1). I have been tested and am HSV1/2 negative. We got into a fight that was stupid and I spit on her, so she spit on me back -- on my face
I put some antibiotic cream in there, but I feel some irritation now in the corner of my eye and an odd burning sensation on and off underneath my eye (on my skin). This happened last night. I've seen you reassure ppl that they wouldn't get ocular
herpes from a bit of spit in the eye. I wouldn't say I got "a lot" of spit in my eye, but it was slightly different than a casual spritzing from someone who spits a bit when they speak. Would you say the same to me in terms of risk?
unless it was an antibiotic cream specifically for the eye area,, you risked damage to your eye!!! antibiotic cream doesn't help with viruses anyways.
folks who have oral herpes aren't shedding the virus 24/7/365.
was this a real herpes risk for you? no it was not. if you used otc antibiotic cream, call your provider for advice as to what to do next to protect your eye!
it was antibiotic cream spec. for the eye area. my gf had it prescribed for an eye issue she was having (abrasion to the cornea) and i've used it a couple of times in the past when i had what felt like an abrasion from my contact lens, and it hasn't been a problem...it's actually been helpful.
are you saying there is something else i should do given the spit, or were you saying i should do something else b/c you thought i used the wrong type of cream?
