swollen neck

four months ago, i had protected intercourse with a lady, afterwards she was very careful and took the condom off from my penis with the help of paper towels, also asked me to clean my groin with alcohal, which i refused, there might be some vaginal secretions on my groin. but her atititude afterwards made me very suspicious, that she has some std. 3 days later i had severe itching on my face, had sore throat after about 20 days, and diarhea after a month, also started having neck pains. after 2 months i had oral herpes breakout and a swollen neck, blood test showed everything ok except that i had high epstien barr virus igg levels. oral herpes is gone now, but my neck is still swollen, also feel pain in my armpits and elbows sometime. this was my first encounter outside a monogamous relationship after 10 years. should i get tested for other stds? do these symptoms point to a particular std? can oral herpes cause swollen neck?very scared, even though i used the condom properly but am regretting that i should have cleaned my groin area with soap.

you can google runny nose even and end up thinking you have cancer. don't make yourself think that this is something it isn't!!

follow up with your providers as needed. no reason to think this is related to any std. even ebv making your neck swell like this at this point would be unusual so follow up properly.

if i google "swollen neck and cold sores", i see lot of posts on people who mention they got swollen neck or lymph node swelling with their initial outbreak of oral herpes, my concern is that it should go away after the cold sores are gone, it has been 2 months since i had cold sores so neck swelling should also go away now, so that is whats worrying me ie is this swollen neck and pain in armpits due to herpes or something else? can it be due to ebstien barr virus?

you won't contract a std from secretions on the skin.  washing up after sex only makes you smell better - it doesn't decrease risk of a std anyways.

no reason to think that your ongoing symptoms in your neck area are std related at all.
