transmission through eating (same plate)

i searched around the forum and couldn't find something that would match my situation. i apologize if i overlooked a post that addressed this.

i was eating with coworkers from the same plate, but we were all using our own utensils. i noticed one of my coworkers had a sore on her mouth. i had about 3 bites before i saw it. would i be at risk of oral herpes?

fyi: she was eating from the other end of the plate, but the dish has a decent amount of sauce that spreads through.

eating from the same plate is not a risk. this is not worth any worry at all about!

Really, if it was this easy to spread everyone would be infected by now. Please dont worry about such a minimal thing.

have actually been tested and been negative. so this is where the worry comes about.

i've read from different sources that sharing food could spread the virus. i am just curious is this limited to mainly sharing utensils

Oral herpes in adults is transmitted via passionate type kissing.

Have you ever been tested to know your own herpes status? Oral herpes is incredibly common - over 1/2 the adult population has it, and most of us won't make it to the old folks home without it.
