what is the possibility of me catching herpes

What is the possibility of me catching herpes
I had a protected sex with a working gal three days ago, I used a condom and even changed the condom after I got a B*** job for the intercourse, non of the condoms I used broke and I kinda got a piece of mind that I’m safe from HIV but still I’m worried about getting herpes, what is the possibility of me catching herpes as I have noticed that she had a sore on her inner lip, even though I only kissed her on the outer lip and I’m sure that I didn’t get in to the inner lip.

The questions are
How effective is the condom in preventing herpes and should I be worried or not?
What type of test should I get in order for me to make sure and after how many days should I take the test?
Should I have a cracked skin in order for me to get infected by a sore or just touching the sore would do it ?

A one time encounter is a low risk for HSV.  Condoms don't provide a lot of protection (about 30%) from the genital section.  If she had oral herpes then you had no risk except for any kissing you did.

Unless you get symptoms no need to test.  You can test within 12 weeks using a type specific igg test.  Do not use an IgM test as they are worthless for HSV.

The transmission is done via heat and friction.  Which would do some microsopic breaks in the skin.

If you get symptoms be seen within 24-48hrs for a lesion culture.
