Threads no longer bumped to the top of the page after posts are added?

MedHelp:

In the original format, which I am still using, threads used to be bumped to the top whenever someone added a new post.

Suddenly that's not happening...

I added a reply to someone's thread in the Breast Cancer forum a few days ago, and today couldn't find it. Thought the whole thread had been deleted for some reason! Finally found it on the second page, whereas some threads with no recent activity were still on the first page! Turns out they are being listed in reverse order of the date they were originally posted, and can be "buried," as this one has been, even though they have the newest post..

What's the purpose of this change?  Is there someway to get it back to the way it was?

Thanks,
bluebutterfly

Since my last post, I discovered that option only shows up  in a forum BEFORE you open any threads.

I had my thread open to write the post when it "disappeared," but once I returned to the forum itself, it was there again. (I imagine that's because it  it can't rearrange the threads when you have one open.)

The problem I wrote about im my question apparently developed when I was trying to use the new format, where newest/active is clearly visible, and carried over the the original format version, which had previously always bumped the thread with the latest post to the top,  when I got it back.

Thanks,

Hi there -

I noticed this as well. I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks!

Hi - I was going to guess that you had somehow toggled to the option to sort by date started, so I'm glad that seems to be the case. However, I was confused by your second post - the sorting option spontaneously disappeared in the Breast Cancer community? Or a different community? Or did I misunderstand entirely?

Okay, found an answer...

For others having this problem, the little wheel that stands for settings SOMETIMES (??) shows  an option to set it to be ordered by last post OR when the thread was started.

(After I switched it, when I went back  to check my information for this post, that option was no longer shown!)
