Site Very Slow?

Is anybody having issues with MH performing very slowly?  I can click on something and it often takes several seconds to get a response; even scrolling down a page can take several tries.  This is happening site wide and it's been getting worse over the past couple of days.  I'm not having trouble on any other websites, but I run a scan of my computer to make sure there was nothing wrong.  Just wondering what might be causing this.

I also have a big Florida Hospital ad that keeps dropping down and often opens in a new window when I haven't clicked on it.  Is there any way to get rid of that?

Thanks.

Thanks for your input.

If at any time you have problems with the site, please let us know ASAP.

Today's issues should have been resolved several hours ago.  If you are still having difficulty, please let us know.

We really appreciate your patience.

The site has been extremely slow in loading at times the past 24 hours. Members are having trouble posting at various times during the day. Some communities are taking hours for new posts even as members try to. There is no difference between IE, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

I know that the MHModerators do their best and may not be able to fix technical server problems. All they can do is inform the director.

Since this is a for profit website with a majority of revenue from paid advertising it would be in the owner(s) financial interest to quickly have it fixed. .   .

All we can do is wait till it's fixed.   Problems like this do occur from time to time with many websites but are usually fixed within hours or so.  Because this is occurring more often recently it also reflects on the the expertise, resources and/or work hours of the person(s) responsible for the technical functioning of MedHelp.

Hi sdwarcher -

Are you getting the same ads that Barb mentioned? Are you able to go to the forums list and scroll without any issues?

Thanks,

Emily

Both the top ad and the left sidebar ads for Florida Hospital are taking me to the following:

https://theheartdestination.com/

Please note that left sidebar ad does change to other ads which don't seem to as problematic.

I do also still have the smaller ads in the top right sidebar that are still starting on their own.  Sometimes it happens if my mouse goes over them (without clicking), other times they just start on their own.

Thank you

Can you either click on one of these ads and give us the URL of the page it takes you to, or right click on it, go to properties, and copy the URL there?

I'll pass it on to our ad director and see what he can do.

Another thing that's happening is when I click to change pages, the ads at the top and left sidebar, often turn into what looks like lines of programming, for a few seconds before the page changes.

The Florida Hospital ad (now alternating with Nemours Children's Hospital) seems to be on almost all my pages, so yes, it's on the pages that are running slow.

I do also have ads in the top right side bar that, sometimes, start playing their video when I haven't clicked on them, or even hovered my mouse over them.

Per your suggestion, I went to the Forums List page and the Ask an Expert page and didn't  have any trouble scrolling on either of those, so you could be right about one of these ads.  Is there anything we can do about it?

Is the Florida Hospital ad on the pages that are running slow? Is there another ad?

If you go to the Forums List page, or another page with no or very few ads, does that run slow? I'm wondering if there is an ad that you are getting that is loading really slow for you.
